It is curious how they chose who to receive the invite.  Did those that did get an invite have bookings?  We have three bookings for later this year and into 2021 and didn't get one.

We received invite and are booked on Sky Princess November 15th. Maybe she's going to update everyone on the new onboard procedures that will be in place then.

    This is the letter we received for the 11/23 Sky cruise;

Important update regarding your Booking #XKGC8T

    Dear Donald,

Due to reduced flight availability, the closure of cruise ports in regions around the world and other factors impacting travel, it is with a heavy heart that Princess is extending our pause of global ship operations.

We know you were looking forward to sailing with us, and we apologize and share in your disappointment over this cancellation. We would love nothing more than to explore the world with you; unfortunately, that isn’t possible at this time.

We hope you will stick with us by accepting this special Double your Deposit Future Cruise Credit offer:

    • Transfer the money deposited for your vacation as a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) and Princess will provide a matching bonus FCC for the same amount up to the base cruise fare amount of the current cruise (minimum $100 per person).

This requires no action from you and gives our team a chance to shine at a later date by using the Future Cruise Credits above on any voyage through May 1, 2022. To find out the amount of your base cruise fare, please log in to Cruise Personalizer ❯, see your booking confirmation email or ask your travel advisor.

Alternatively, you can forfeit the bonus FCC and request a refund for all money paid on your booking by using this online form ❯. If we don't hear from you by June 15, 2020, you will automatically receive the default FCC offer.

Money paid in excess of the cruise fare for Princess Vacation Protection, taxes, fees and port expenses, airfare or hotel packages will be refunded or transferred to a new booking if you’re ready to rebook. In any event prepaid shore excursions and/or special service items will be refunded. Click here ❯ for full details.

We ask for your continued patience in affording us the time to work through the refunds and FCCs properly. Because we are not able to use our usual automated process, our team is manually handling a large volume of requests while working from home. We want to make sure each guest's booking is handled as accurately and efficiently as possible, and this is taking more time.

When you are ready to rebook, please contact Princess or the original agency where you booked your cruise to redeem your Future Cruise Credit.

It saddens us to think about the impact on the livelihood of our teammates, business partners and the communities we visit. We look forward to the day when you can sail with us, and we can serve you once again.

    Sincerely,

    Jan Swartz signature

Could it be because its only a 5 day cruise? Perhaps they are deep cleaning ships between each sailing and allowing 24 hours before resailing thus changing to a 4 day sailing for you. We are booked on 15th and have not been notified of cancellation.

We are on both the 5/5 and 5/15 cruises and our cruise on the 15th is showing a due date in October.Maybe yours is 3 months earlier because you are in the UK.

We are on the 5/15 Sky cruise our final payment was due July but understand that Princess have change final payment to 60 days before, instead of 90 days. Have contacted my TA to check. Usually have to pay earlier if booking through a TA in UK.

I do not recall seeing anything on this board about any of them. Most often suggested option on this board is Larry’s Limos. We used them a few years ago and were happy. We have also used private car services from Go Airport, who are based at the FLL airport

Thanks for this information we have also booked with Larry's Limos

  5. We are staying pre-cruise at Miami Lakes and require transport to the port for our cruise in November.

Can anyone recommend a private car firm or can give me feedback on any of the following companies:

    Fortlauderdalelimos.org

    ftlauderdalef1-limo.com

    ftlauderdalevipvanservice.com

Also Mead - although am unable to book with them for November at present.

We are not interested in Uber/Lyft

    Thanks for any help

  6. We're on the 15th November 2020 sailing Caribbean,  R/T Fort Lauderdale.

First cruise on a Royal Class ship. Looking forward to comparing to the Grand Class.

    Long time to go

  7. Has anyone stayed in either of these cabins on Magestic/Regal/Royal Princess.

Considering these two rooms for our Sky Princess cruise.

The BA balcony cabin is coming up smaller at 229 sq. ft.  than the BD balcony cabin at 250 sq. ft.

Would appreciate advice on which we should go for. The BA has an angled balcony midship. The BD is aft.

We aren't concerned with where they are situated just which would be best.

Any advice or photos would be great.

    Thanks

  8. Thanks for the replies so far.

Think I may look at Dolphin deck. Problem seems to be in getting an inside cabin opposite. Most decks have limited inside cabins opposite/by balconies. Many are opposite mini suites. Other than Caribe deck which balcony cabins look smaller.

Will continue to look but any more advice would be good.

  9. We are looking to book a cruise on the Sky Princess.

We have never been on a Royal Class ship before and are used to the Caribe deck cabins on the Grand Class.

Can anyone advise where the best balcony cabins are on the Royal Class ships. As it seems the Caribe deck doesn't have the half and half larger balconies.

We usually book a balcony and inside room for 3 of us and then all use the balcony.

I realise that no one has experience of the Sky Princess but I believe she will be similar to the Royal class ships.

So any advice you can give would be great.

Thank you Maryann for this guide found it very useful.

We will be in Halifax in May and just starting to look at private excursion to include Maritime Museum, Fairview Cemetery  eiher Peggys Cove or Acadian Maple. So the information provided as got me off to a good start.

I have no experience regarding epilepsy but do understand that closing her eyes would not be an option. I find find the strobes very bright and that coupled with the extremely loud music does not work for me.  The strobes are on revolving bases that not only go around and around but up and down simultaneously whilst changing colour.   I think you are correct in thinking it may not be a good environment for her. I hope this information helps a little.

Thanks for this information it definitely helps to know in advance these things

I am not sure there is a Dinner show on the Dawn, we were on her a couple of months ago.  The shows in the theater do have lots of flashing strobes and spotlights as do some other venues like the bliss lounge.   There is no warning and they are very bright.  If your daughter  has a problem all she  can do is close his eyes after the first hint of trouble.  Ocular migraine sufferers may have a problem.

Unfortunately closing her eyes isn't an option she has epilepsy.

Looks like we will have to check with the entertainment team on the ship to see what shows are suitable.

  13. This is our first NCL cruise on the Dawn in May. We are thinking about booking a dinner show but DD has problems with lighting.

Is there strobe or fast flickering lighting at the dinner show?

Don't want to book and then find we can't go once on board. Or should we book on board and then speak to entertainment team?

    Any advice would be good.

  14. We are looking at booking a Balcony cabin on NCL Dawn. Having never sailed with NCL can anyone tell me if this ship as any larger balconies or 1/2 covered and 1/2 open.

Following research, we usually choose Caribe deck on Princess so there is enough room for 3 of us to sit out there. DD has an inside cabin so its nice to have a slightly larger balcony for  us to all sit out.

Any advice on best cabin type or best deck to go for would be grateful.

    Thanks

  15. Just fixed it on my iPad. In the settings you can turn off the image previews. If it’s the same as on my ipad, use the arrow on the top left of the screen to get all the way back and then you will see the “hamburger” menu on the top right. Go to settings from there and switch off the image previews.

  16. We dock in St. Kitts with 2 other ships, will we struggle to get a taxi for a scenic drive, or should we book a Tour in advance?

It's our first time in St. Kitts but don't want to go to Caribelle Batik, which most tours include

    Thanks

  17. Hello,

    Caribbean Princess – July 14, 2018 to July 21, 2018 – FourGirl Friends and a Cruise

I had an extension cord in my carry-on whichwas found and confiscated. It was just aplain $2 power strip, no surge protection what so ever but they placed my nameon a form so that I could collect it after the cruise.

Can you not take extension cords on board, or do they have to be in your suitcases and not carry on?

  18. From the two threads running on this topic' date=' it looks like it is spotty. We have gotten the cup on our last 3 Princess cruises, most recently last summer. However, others are reporting not getting them. When I ordered in advance, there was a voucher in the cabin which I took to exchange for the cup. When I bought it on board, we were handed the cup at that time.[/quote']

Thanks DD always has soda package and is hoping for a new cup
