  1. I have searched the board and read many of the posts regarding the "Sweet 16" cabins. Unfortunately I did not find any info that covered my questions listed below. I am considering changing to one of these cabins for an around the horn South American cruise on the Infinity. Right now I have booked a 2c balcony (7047)on deck 7.

    1. Do you hear "noise" when the theater is in use for shows and rehearsals?

    2. How "smooth" is the ride in these forward cabins when seas are rolling?

I would appreciate all input pro or con.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. We are booked on the Coral Princess for a partial canal transit next March. I am thinking of changing our cabin from a balcony to an aft facing oceanview. Does anyone have experience with the E732, 733 or Baja 728 or 731 cabins? It appears there is a deck outside of the cabins, but I would not think it would used very much except for the canal transit itself?

Any thoughts/comments? Too may choices!! Can't wait for our cruise!

    Hi Cindy.

We were in E732 in September 2013 on a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska. Door slamming noises were not an issue for us since very few people are not aware of this huge almost private aft balcony. No furniture is permitted on the balcony. People that do use it use it mainly for picture taking and don't tend to stay around very long. Then again, we had some cool/cold, misty days so this may have also been a reason for the infrequent use. Only issues we had were on a couple of occasions, one or two cabin stewards used the area to make cell phone calls in front of our cabin window. We contacted the desk about it and the problem went away. Once in a while you may have someone trying to peer through the window but keeping the sheer curtain closed was adequate for us. Over all, I would not mind being in this cabin again.

Here are some pictures for E732 and the balcony outside.

  3. The taxi must wait for you at the viewpoint, there is nothing up there except a small parking area. No taxis waiting and the only way down to the old town is by goat path, I know this for a fact as I've walked it. Will take you about 3/4 of an hour just to reach the Ploce side of town. The taxi must wait for you to take the photos and then take you down the hill into the old town. The viewpoint is only a photo stop, just take your shots and pile back into the taxis back to town.

Thank you for your reply. I have been told a number of times by "friends" that I am "just an old goat" but I don't think I will be up for tackling the goat path.:D

  4. The taxi quote sounds fare to me and you should understand there are many companies who do have mini vans. However I am not allowed to give you any of their exact names on this forum. These taxis normally wait in line at the Gruz harbor, then SPEED up to the Pile Brsalje (Square) and SPEED back to the pier. By taking you up to Vidikovac they are missing out on about 3 other fares. These drivers are going to let you out at the viewpoint to take photos and then drive back down the hill to town. Yes it is a good price.

The Cabrio bus stops running on 01 November every year. It is a 2 hour long sightseeing bus which does stop at Vidikovac but will no longer be running. And since our weather has changed this past week, it is not going to be running next week during the rain.

Be prepared for changing weather as you are arriving here after our season has ended. Museums and churches will be open, however you may be hard pressed to find very many outdoor cafés open for business. Weather permitting you can also walk the city walls, however do be very careful during the 2 kilometer walk on the 650 steps.

"By taking you up to Vidikovac they are missing out on about 3 other fares. These drivers are going to let you out at the viewpoint to take photos and then drive back down the hill to town." Please clarify for me - We will be in Dubrovink on November 5th. If the taxi just drops you off at Vidikovac and doesn't wait for you to take pictures, are there other taxis or other modes of transportation in the area to take you back to Pile Brsalje?
