Yep, carnival just lost a booking of 5 balcony suites, hello Norwegian.

My family was planning a trip to Alaska, that would have been 5 rooms. Off to Norwegian or Holland. It is really too bad that some sort of compromise couldn't have been reached. I really can't see how someone smoking while the ship is moving could cause others so much angst. Perhaps while the ship was in port smokers could be told they are not allowed to smoke on their balconies but when the ships moving it is not an issue. Oh well looking forward to a new cruise line.

There is a "Sticky" where questions about smoking on Princess ships should be posted. That being said, there will probably be a small smoking area on the port side of the Sun deck (15) by the Tradewinds Bar. Balconies on the Lido deck (14) are just one deck below and would be fairly convenient. There "might" be smoking on the port side of the Terrace Pool area and aft balconies on Aloha deck (12) would be one deck below. Current info on designated smoking area should be found on the Smoking "Sticky".

Thank you. I haven't been on here in years and wasn't even sure what a sticky was lol. I shall investigate that.

Our family is considering taking the golden princess out of San Francisco and several members in our group smoke. So, with that being said what balcony cabins are located closest to the designated smoking areas on the golden princess? They know they are not allowed to smoke on their balcony but they would like to be as close as possible to a smoking area. Any room suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If I was to smuggle booze, this is what I would mix:

 

In a black igloo brand 22 oz. thermal cup, smash 1/2 banana and a couple chunks of fresh pineapple with ice, then add 1 part rum (Tortuga, if available) with 1 part fruit punch and 1 part lemonade or orange juice.

If were the smuggling type, that sounds very tasty. I never thought of banana and pineapple, I can't wait to try that one out. I usually stick to appletini, however it would be doubly naughty because you also have to smuggle the sour stuff that goes in it.:D
