Wow, that is an amazing price!

What number did you call? I have two numbers - 844 418-6824 and 800-760-0654.....did you speak with anyone in particular (supervisor).....I just want to get a great deal too!!!!

This is the number I used. 888-751-7804. Like I said do not call customer service. Honestly they are clueless. All that they did was take the difference between the two plans then multiply it times the number of nights. I tried CS twice then called CC. It took minutes and I was done. I did tell them my cruise TA offered me $12 a night and she came back with that price. Good luck.

  2. I am not elite yet. One cruise away. I called captains club and got both of us upgraded with tax & gratuity for $230. For 12 day cruise. Just make the call.   Do not talk to their customer support. One quoted me $360 & another was 350. I knew that was not correct because my cruise TA quoted me less.

  3. We were on this cruise also. Cabin 7179 Concierge. Lucky for us we were right down the hall from Farmer and had no plumbing problem at all. Loved the ship but nothing like the Solstice or reflection. The refresh seems to have done a nice job. Maybe now we don't have to look at peoples pics of rust on a ship that sails in salt water for awhile:) We were happy to watch the Villanova game on Thursday night under the stars. Great concept like Princess has been doing for years but what were they thinking with that furniture. It is so uncomfortable. The coffee café is spot on especially with the premium package. As for the dining room and the reason we have been traveling for many years with Celebrity I give it a "D". The only reason I did not give it an F was because of the people servicing us. Ida was awesome and Rolando the Wine Stewart was the best we ever had! Lets say this for the food. It is no maybe 1 level above cafeteria level. I mean how could this happen to celebrity??? I'm guessing they are trying to faze out the main dining rooms and charge you every night for food in specialty restaurants. The new Tuscan Grill was much better than on the Solstice class. A new menu with home made Pasta. I gave it an A. The pool area is very nice but again the new loungers they put in there are so uncomfortable. Why would they not use the same ones from the Reflection with the cushions? Getting on and off the Ship was a breeze. No issues at all. Did not do any shows but the pool and lounge acts are not like they use to be. We had a great cruise no doubt but it is so obvious that Celebrity is not what they use to be. Its a shame. I probably would not do them again and the food would be the reason. We have sailed with them the last 16 cruises. If you are going on one of their cruises in the near future you will have a blast. My negatives I pointed out were just from our perspective but I still had a great time and you will too. Celebrity needs to see these issues in print so they can start to make changes.

  4. On our January Silhouette cruise about half the men were wearing suits or blazers. There were a few tuxes. Most of the other men wore long sleeved dress shirts and slacks. There were a few golf shirts. Mostly everyone looked very nice. I probably should mention this was a Caribbean cruise, select dining, 7pm. Perhaps those who ate later in the evening observed something different.

IMO, Celebrity made the right decision with the Chic dress code.

I totally agree. I am leaving for the Caribbean on Saturday on the Summit and I am bringing a sport coat for the two captains nights but only bringing slacks and nice golf shirts for the other evenings. I could never understand why people care what other people wear unless they are really dressed down like bib overalls that were mentioned. I have been on at least 25 cruises since 1982 and I have seen people dressed every way possible. You will never change people so why even bother. Care about yourselves and enjoy your vacation.

  5. My first cruise was on the SS Norway back in 1982. She was very old then but just had a makeover where they added a couple of decks. Still one of my favorite cruises to date. Probably because I was 24 and still single:0 The next ship I went on was the Carnival Mardi Gras. You actually had to go to a common room to use blow dryers or shavers. (back when I still had hair). Had a blast on her. I graduated to the RCCL ships. Had a blast on all. They we switched to Princess. Had a blast on all. Did the Azamara Journey. Even though it was really small we loved it. The last few were on the Solstice & Reflection. Unreal ships. Very big but you never knew it! If you can tell I had a blast on every ship I went on. It did not matter how old it was, how inconvenient it was, how small it was. Just go on the itinerary you want and make the best of it! Have never been on the Summit but we are going on her in two weeks and can't wait. Its vacation. Have a few drinks relax and enjoy!!!

  6. CC class is a joke. The only real perk is that you get a better location with your cabin. When we booked our last three cruises the price for the balcony cabins always had obstructed views. There are a few that are not obstructed but you have to be one of the first to book cause there are only a few. We have chosen the last three times only because of the location. Oh yea you can get your shoes shined!

  7. Great review. I have to tell you of my first cruise. 1978 on the SS Norway I was 20 years old with 3 other buddies. One of the best cruises of my life and I have been on over 25. For anyone that ever sailed her I think you would agree she was one of the most exquisite ships ever to sail. My next cruise was on the Carnival Mardi Gras. What a letdown from the Norway. This ship did not even have outlets in the room!!! Well back then I had hair and had to go to a room with about 25 women to blow dry my hair. We then agreed that we would not let the ship ruin our cruise. We made it a great cruise. For anyone who knew cruising back then food was horrible. But guess what...there was booze and girls!!! My point no matter how bad the food, how bad the ship you make the most of it and just have fun. My favorite ship so far? The Solstice. What an amazing ship!!! Now we are leaving Saturday on the Reflection and I am just as excited as I was on the Norway. Pulling up in the cab and seeing that ship still gives me goosebumps. I'm glad you enjoyed your first cruise and I'm sure you will have many more to come!!! Thanks for the great review!

  8. Sorry...first of all I don't want to hear how elite somebody is. This is a cruise on a ship carrying 3k people. You are going to get noise. I am leaving in 2 weeks and don't want my bubble busted from someone that should be traveling on HA with more senior travelers. Not that there is anything wrong with seniors but that's the kind of cruise someone like this should be on. We are in our mid 50's and this is my 25th cruise. No I won't call myself elite!!! I can't wait to get on that ship and relax during the day and make some NOISE at night. Really what were you expecting on a ship this large??? Why did you not travel with regent? You can really say you are elite then!!!

  9. Hi All...Thanks for all the positive feedback. I am feeling better. Actually I was reading the Journey review by ziggyatsea named "Azamara fails in 1st year!!". What a terrible review!!! It seems like they are trying to make you feel bad. I have been on over 15 cruises...even the Mardi Gras back in 1983. If I could have a great time on that ship this should be heaven! Wife is taking me on my 50th...We are looking at this as transportation to all the stops, but picked Azamara since they are owned by Celebrity, which means good food & service which is all we need for this trip. Again thanks for all the positives.

  10. I'm just wondering...We are booked on the Journey on October 19th. By reading the reviews on cruis critic I get really mixed reviews. Either people love or hate this cruise line...I just don't get how one person can have such a great time and another have everthing go wrong???? Is there anyone else that is worried about traveling with them? They are run by Celebrity...can it be that bad?
