  1. Fluffy as a CD would be a major factor in our choosing the ship she was aboard. She's so much more fun and informative than anyone we've had in the last couple of cruises. I really hope that Carnival doesn't lose her to a competitor, as we'd seriously rethink our choices.

Note to John Heald.... This gal, Fluffy, is Top Gun material, and should be, if not already, in the CD track.

  2. Summer 2016, she was aboard, and we were completly entertained by all her interactions with us and the rest of the passengers. She was always upbeat, a fountain of knowledge, and so fun to be with. I know that Valor has shifted ports.

Anyone on CCL ships hear of her? We'd consider booking her ship next.

  3. Welcome to Cruise critic!

Where do you want Uber to take you? We have sailed out of Port Canaveral many times. If we know where you want to go then we can help you with other ways to get there, alternatives to Uber. Sorry never even though of using Ube anywhere.

Bonnie, as a native of the NC coast and frequent CCL cruiser, can you give some info as to delivery from hotel on CB to PC and then rtn from PC to hotel 5 miles away? Taxi, transportation costs seem a bit exorbitant...20 pp each way.

  4. I respect your passion and tenacity. But I wholeheartedly disagree with you. I will continue to use and recommend Uber and Lyft to anyone that asks. I've been using them for years and have nothing but good experiences.

This! Lyft is the way we go. They've always been clean vehicles, the drivers are pleasant, the ride predictable uncomplicated. Not used a taxi in years because of drivers with bad attitudes, dirty unkempt cars..

We did the math. Lyft works for us.

  5. Ship - Liberty

    Deck - 1

    Stateroom # - 1223

    Stateroom Category – 4B

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – No ship noises. Party in cabin next door got into a row. Security called, quieted them.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? -No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. –

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? -

    Was wind a problem? -

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? -

Any specific problems with this cabin? - only electrical outlets are near the desk, which is 2 feet from the foot of the bed ( twins placed together for king) so if you need outlets

for CPAPs or other therapy machines, you'll need an extension cord from the steward.

Any other comments? - Plenty of room for two.

  6. LOL.. You know that was ME who posted that.. right? Larry was great. We've had good and bad and he's up there with the best. Just have not heard anything about this guy.. and that's generally not a good sign..

Yes, Brother Dan, I knew it was yours. Even has a brief glimpse of the guy from Pittsburgh in it...Hoping your Liberty cruise is a wonderful one.

  7. Actually saw that and was unimpressed, looked like no audience reaction and the voice was...

Was looking for someone's opinion, not a cocky answer, but thanks anyway..

We've actually found you tube video featuring the Great and Wonderful Larry and his perverted Old MacDonald's farm....

Sure do wish we were on Liberty with ya, Dan! We're on Fantasy as of Sunday!

    All best!

    Carl & Gwen

  8. Wilmington......yes yes yes........we have a deep water port, a vibrant downtown area, beautiful beaches but we also have electrical lines that have to be moved to the tune of one million! I maintain hope----- a very small hope!

I'd prefer Morehead over Wilmington... The only key is to get the crooks..er uh..politicians in Raleigh to see how much money they can make....er uh...potential revenue to the coastal areas.

  9. The GF breads may not be good, but CCL does work with folks who are GF and their menu and foods are far better than on RCI or NCL.

CCL has gone out of their way to make sure our DD's gluten free requirements were met. The DR manager came to see us each night with the next night's dinner menu so they could plan. GF breads were delicious. The GF pizza rocks.

While we can't compare CCL to other lines, for us, CCL hits home runs!

  10. Well, I may be in the minority, but I love Fantasy. I have 38 nights on her. Didn't like her the first couple of times but have grown to love the old gal.

I don't need bigger ships with more bells and whistles. When I sail from Charleston, it's for a rest and relaxation cruise.

    Hear! Hear!

  11. You might be able to snag a price drop prior to New Year's but in reality, New Year's is the most popular time of the year to cruise and thus commands the highest prices. If you are flexible in what ship you take, you stand a better chance of getting a better price. I hope it works out well for you.

Christmas-New Years are the busy, crowded weeks with high demand. With high demand, lowered prices are an anomaly.

Add to that, Fantasy is the only ship for most of us within 4-500 miles who do not wish to travel to Florida to board a ship. Fantasy price drops are rare, in that they usually sail with few cabins left open...

We're on the Jan 18th itinerary, which has seen a price increase..puzzling for an off week with low demand.
