  1. I can only tell you that the Celebrity snorkeling excursion where they picked us up at the ship was horrible, we were packed in like the proverbial sardines. I go to Belize for scuba diving regularly and the reef on the Water Caye excursion was not that good. Goff's Key is supposed to be better.

Thanks Podie. We won't be doing any scuba, in fact it's probably going to be just beach for us that day. How would you rate the beach and are there any facitilites (ie washrooms, food etc) at Water Caye? If we wanted to do some snorkelling, do you know if they provided equipment or if there was equipment available?

  2. Was wondering if anyone could shed any light on the difference between these two. Price difference is only $10 and the RCI excursion leaves directly from the ship without tendering to shore first.

Any thoughts comparing the two, or information on either one from someone who's been there, would be appreciated.

  3. My wife and I really enjoyed cavetubing with .bz. Vitalino and his staff went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. My wife has mobility problems and couldn't walk the 20/25 minutes to the entry point so they pulled her upstream to meet us in the caves.

I'm not sure what experience pokerpro had and can't find any specifics in any recent post on the Belize forum but ours was extraordinary. Without specifics my gut is to just ignore those kinds of posts as sour grapes.

  4. I was looking at various tour companies for a cave tubing excursion with the family. Do any of the tour companies have tubes with bottoms? I have seen some companies with head rests' date=' but unsure of bottoms.

Also, has anymore been tubing recently? What is the water level like? We will be there march 13th and I wonder if it gets really shallow at parts.

    Thanks![/quote']

we were tubing with cavetubing.bz last week and yes they had to yell "bottoms up" at a half dozen spots.

  5. cavetubing.bz carries tubes and there are a lot of reviews here on them.

ditto on cavetubing.bz. they got the tubes to the river entry point and were extra specially attentive to anyone with issues walking.

  6. I have considered booking with cavetubing.bz, but with the tender and distance, I figured it would maybe be safer to just book with the cruise ship. We don't want a combo tour, unless it includes ruins, which carnival doesn't offer (i know .bz does). I see there are 3 tubing tours on carnival for $50, $56, and $120. I see the only difference is lunch between the 50 and 56. The $120 tour is confusing though because of how much more it is than every other tour. I guess it goes down a different, or "better" river? Can someone better explain if it is worth it and if should pay $70 more?

BTW, my search feature is messed up right now.

If it helps at all we just did cavetubing with cavetubing.bz. Took us a while to get off the ship (wife's medical issue). We met up with Vitalino at 10 and were still back to the port by 3 (4:30 was last tender).

  7. We just came back and did the cavetubing with cavetubing.bz and had an awesome time. They also had zipling but we didn't do that. yes, between tendering and the subsequent bus ride it took about 30 minutes to get to the excursion site but we thoroughly enjoyed it and Vitalino and his staff treated us royally.

  8. in Belize cavetubing with cavetubing.bz was awesome - they also have a zipline and you can do both. we only did the cavetubing (which included lunch) and it took us about 5 hours including travel time from and back to the city.

  9. I know the ship parks way out.

How long is the tender ride in? about 30 minutes

Are the tender boats pretty decent size? yes - anywhere between 150 and 300 passengers

And is it a scary ride in???? Lol

nope, not scary at all - quite comfortable
  10. Sounds to me like for rent is for rent - they don't specify so I would take that as you can rent it to use on your own. Having said that I would contact them directly to be sure. There's an email address on their website and they're quite good at returning emails.

  11. Does anyone know if you can just rent snorkel gear there and can go out and snorkel on your own??? Thanks!!!:o

    From their website....
