  1. Yep, looks like we are on the same cruise on the Dawn in June.

With the sideways cabin it's just a different configuration (not sure it's actually bigger and I doubt it, but it feels like it). When you walk into the door to one side will be the bed area and to the other side you'll have a small hall with the closets and the door going in to the bathroom. I'll see if I can find some pictures. I know I seen some posted online of the newer ones on the Dawn.

Yes,that is the way it was on the Princess Diamond & we were very satisfied.:D I don't know if you are from New England but we are near the border of New Hampshire & boy did we have a bad & cold winter! I had cabin fever all winter. I'm so ready for this cruise!

  2. Casino credits are a good way to get cash, plus when you charge them to your CC you can get your credit card points (2x for travel on Amex)

I just ordered some casino credits for our March cruise. I have done this for a lot of my cruises plus double the points on my Princess visa CC card. When you cash the voucher in you can play the machine or not. No fee plus no shut off on card:eek:

  3. Thanks to those that have been helpful. I cruised on Disney and we have a fish thing. We travel Carnival now because we can no longer afford Disney. But, that doesn't mean we cannot be festive!

I will google. And, try to find out about types of magnets that would be good to use.

Hi jlindemer:) I have traveled on Carnival 7 times & Princess 7 times. I loved all of them & they both have medal doors. I use the clip with a magnet on the back of it. Sometimes they come with the chip clip. Just use it to clip whatever. The first one is on our way to Hawaii to celebrate our 50th Anniversary & the other 3 was on the Caribbean cruise. Easy to find your cabin.

  4. The Festivale in 1989. She was a converted liner, ex. S.A. Vaal. She now resides in that great cruise ship port in the sky, having been dismantled at Alang a few years ago.

Will celebrate the 25 year anniversary of that cruise this April!

Our first was also the Festivale in 1984 for our 25th Anniversary. We loved it so much we went back on the it in April 1989 for our third one. We might have saw each other there. It was still fabulous even without stabilizers. Live bands everywhere.:D

  5. Hello,

I recently returned from the 15 day holiday Hawaiian cruise on the Grand Princess leaving out of San Francisco. The cruise spanned from December 20, 2013 until January 4, 2014.

I kept the Princess Patter for each day and scanned them in to share with you to help those who will be on a similar future cruise or those who want to reminisce about this particular cruise. There are also port maps of where we visited.

Here is the link to the files...

Thank you so much! We are leaving on 03/22/2014. This will help a lot!:)
