  1. We took the opportunity to visit Liverpool yesterday, coincidentally when the Celebrity Eclipse was in port, we had sailed the Caribbean on her a few years previously. What was so impressive was despite so many visitors to the area nowhere seemed crowded, both around the area of the port and the many places of interest in the City. Having cruised most parts of the world, I would consider this port of call with so much to see and do just of the ship as a must visit for our American cousins and European and Asian friends.

  2. You really do get some really pointless posts on here but this beats them all.

Do you seriously expect us to believe such nonsense that a senior officer would make such a comment?

Why not? I would think a lot of the older crew members could be a tad disenchanted with the way things are changing

  3. Virgin Atlantic is claiming an industry first by becoming the first airline in Europe to offer wifi across its entire fleet.

From today customers can email, browse and socialise 35,000ft, with prices starting at £2.99 to connect.

Virgin claims its fully connected wifi programme is 'at least a year ahead of other European long-haul carriers'.

The airline says 42% of customers opt for its wifi max package, which lasts the entire flight and costs £14,99.

Could we have WiFi on our Virgin flights to Adonia in the Caribbean ????

  4. Cane Garden beach is the one with all the facilities. You'll find loads of people from the ship going there, so plenty of taxis to share and never a problem getting back. Think it's 8$ pp each way. There's wifi, several bars, food places and though it gets quite busy we still like it. The other beach we've been to is Brewers Bay but it was too quiet for us as well.

Brewers Bay just suited us, there is a small cafe/bar with toilet facilities. Sun loungers can be hired and there is plenty of shade to the rear of the beach. Only downside swimming can be a tad dangerous if the sea is rough.

  5. I will remind everyone that as the value of the pound falls against the dollar the amount of money Carnival earn from their P&O ships falls as Carnival work in dollars. Maybe increasing the daily charge is another way of making up the shortfall.

When in the past I have inquired of the crew " is it ok if I tip in dollars" they say they proffered GBP's

  6. There are many new to cruising who may find the concept of tipping and particularly at the rate suggested, a tad challenging and therefore opt out, some completely. Accordingly should there now be a deficit in the tips pool, P&O could be making the increase in order to cover this shortfall.
