Thank you for the replies. You have basically confirmed what T-Mobile told us--but I needed to hear it from fellow CCer's. :D

For some reason I trust all you complete strangers more than the complete stranger on the other end of the T-Mobile phone call. :rolleyes:

We're about to switch cell phone providers, and wondering if anyone has experience with T-Mobile coverage while in ports? Specifically Juneau, Ketchikan, and Sitka. :rolleyes:

And while I'm asking, do I understand correctly that we should TURN OFF our cell phones while on board ship to avoid ghastly charges? :eek:

This is a great idea for a thread. :)

This August will be our second cruise with HAL to Alaska. Our itinerary includes:

Juneau--Fly-Out Fly Fishing Adventure, then exploring Mendenhall Glacier/visitor center on our own

Sitka--4X4 Wilderness Tour, then Sitka National Historical Park & Raptor Center on our own

Ketchikan--Creek St., Married Man's trail, Cape Fox Lodge, shopping-- all on our own

Victoria--carriage ride, Fairmont Empress Hotel--on our own

I'm looking forward to reading other responses. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind about some of our activities. :rolleyes:
