We received a welcome message from Cpt. Nash for our Jan 3, 2016 cruise, so he will be at the helm for the new year.

I recently had restylane. After the numbing cream wore off, the treated area was sore. I applied cold compresses and gentle massage. When I awoke the next morning, the area was quite swollen, so I applied an ice pack. By the end of the second day, the swelling was gone. It did reduce the parentheses but I don't know if it's worth the investment. If you are doing this for a special occasion, get it done well in advance to allow the swelling to go down. My med spa was offering a free 50 units of Dysport (new form of Botox) with each syringe of restylane. I don't think the results from the Dysport are as good as with Botox. The bottom line: I will re-evaluate in six months and get Botox as needed.

Thank you for your detailed review, it makes me glad that I booked a balcony cabin. The Pacific Coast "June Gloom" may be over--the last few mornings have been sunny.

We don't gamble or smoke, so that saves a ton of money, and we do not drink much. On HAL, I always sign up for weekly unlimited laundry and thermal spa. We like active shore excursions, but we don't buy much of the junk sold at the ports.
I'm disappointed RCCL doesn't offer the weekly laundry or spa pass. Does anyone know if they have any type of spa pass that allows you to use the semi-private jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, etc.?

On the last few cruises, hardly anyone wore gowns. I'm trying to pack as light as possible so I can mix and match outfits. If I need to do laundry, it is just down the hall. What about a dress from Chico's? I'm 55 and average size--about a size 10.
