It cost us $50 to add 2 extra people at the end of August. I recommend not "adding" any additional guests. I accidentally mentioned my extra guests when choosing my cabana and they added the extra fees. Nobody is going to count the people in your cabana...u just won't have snorkle gear for them and a few less sodas (which we didn't even come close to finishing). The only perk would be that they can get off on either the first or second tender. I would all be careful to not mention extra guests in the future. Total waste of money for us.

Just off the Pride 8/28. We had room 4130 and the door definitely opens. I had to give it a pretty good tug, but it def. opened. I have previously had balconies and thought I would also save a few bucks by getting this room. We did not use the doors like I thought I would and totally REGRET NOT HAVING A BALCONY!! We also had room 4132 (spaced between the two life boats). 4132 had a better view then 4130 but I did not try and open that door.

Can you tell me what time you arrived at the port? Did you have fttf or a suite to be able to board faster?
-
Can you tell me if the FTTF line is clearly at embarkation?

I took my son so when I was a single mom when he was about 3. I highly recommend long sleeve sun protection shirts (not short sleeves). Also plenty of sunscreen. I also learned to not expect much out of him. He was a very social child but refused to go to the camp carnival. He also would be so exhausted from the days events that he on more then one occasion would fall asleep during the early seating of dinner. He was also toilet trained but peed all down the front of me when I was carrying him back to the room after falling asleep. Also be prepared for strangers wanting to chit chat with you about cruising alone. After a couple days people seemed to notice it was just him and I. It can at time be a little tough but you will definitely have some great memories. As for the ship I'm sure she will be in awwww if the big boat and flashy lights no matter which on you choose.

I'm like you and HATE waiting in lines. Did you have any problems waiting for Guys Burgers or at the Blue Iguana?

So excited for this review. We are travelling with a two year old on the Pride in August (and older kids). All tips and pointers will be greatly appreciated!

Please come teach my 20 month old! I think u will have no problem. No swim diapers though. I'm sure some people will look at you sideways...but who cares, your on vacation!

Poor hubby...I woke him up at 5:45 to purchase them. But our cruise is paid off which feels awesome!

We are a family of five also. Going on our first cruise in March. When we were researching and pricing things out we found that it wasn't too much of a difference in price to book the 2 interiors and having an extra bathroom/shower is a definite plus for us.

We are booked on the Pride and a family of 5 as well. We booked two interior rooms with obstructed views. The ability to have 2 showers was also a big plus for us. When I played with bookings for ships that could accommodate 5...the price appereared higher then what I am paying for the two rooms.

Never mind I get it now

I didn't realize you could get 50% of bottles. Is this only for wine and champagne? Or does that also go towards liquor?

When you walk up to the boat for the first time and how little you feel next to it.
I agree about the videos....I'd like to see a collaboration with babycat and carnival! Your videos really seem to capture "the little things" great work!

I think there will be less kids...but personally I would consider taking my kids out for a really good deal. For us (Fairfax County, VA) kids go back just after labor day. My logic is that they really don't learn anything that first week of school. Just my personal thought. Hope you have a great cruise!

Looks like he was logged in yesterday according to his profile. Maybe send him a message.

Hubby bought 2 and I bought 2. Got the cards today and just successfully applied to my balance. 80 bucks saved equals a happy momma!

Why should they notify you? They had empty cabins and you purchased without checking sail dates in gooogle. The entire ship won't be booked, so there will be venues open to the general public. I can't imagine a bunch of pasty goth people to be using the pool area :D so you might get a much coveted lounger by the pool.
Go and have fun!
Haha..my thoughts exactly about the pool area!

Thanks for the advice. I do use an spf rash guard and hats as well. I typically don't have issues while at the pool...but the tropical sun is so different from where we live. I will be trying the water babies from your suggestions (and try wrestling him down as much as possible to reapply).

So when my older kids were young I loved the bullfrog surfer formula which they no longer make (although very greasy and hard to wash off). My toddler is pretty fair and would love to hear recommendations for the strong carribean sun. I prefer sunscreen that isn't overly greasy....but will use that if it ensures no sunburn. I will also not be using aerosol sprays. Suggestions?

Love this. Is it possible to add a "max room capacity" column...from what I understand it is only dream class ships....but might be a good thing for a quick reference.

I will be travelling next year with a 2 year old. I purchased fttf for thar reason alone. If I can reduce any chance for a grumpy toddler then it is money well spent.

So I'm not going till next year but I am a narcotic planner. We will be renting a cabana and want thoughts on choosing a cabana with a little one (26 months when we cruise). Do I get as close to the playground to keep him entertained, or go further down for quiet? I personally hate crowds but will take one for the team to keep the little one happy. Also, have there been any improvements to the kids play area? I went maybe 7 years ago with my other son and the play area was pretty lame back then.

I can't seem to pull it now, but if you go to the carnival webite and search the word cribs, it will have the model info to make sure it will work for your little one.
How much to add guests to HMC cabana ?

You know, you're right. I guess I'm just bitter because Carnival caught all my smuggled liquor.
