Interesting. We snorkel at both Freeport and Nassau. And much preferred Freeport. The boat, snorkel equipment, and reef were much nicer. The crew was much more friendly and helpful. The people selling things were less pushy and rude. We much preferred Freeport over Nassau.

I read that you can carry on cans or cartons of drinks. I think maybe I read 12 per person. My question is: are coconut water cartons allowed. They are a carton, but have a screw on lid....so I was just wondering if anyone knows. Thanks

I think the terminology that carnival uses is confusing. "Fire retardent materials" actually means a material that retards or inhibits a fire. Like the contents of a fire extinguisher or the stuff that they drop out of planes on a wildfire.
I am guessing that they actually mean flame resistant. I am kind of a new cruiser so I don't know what all you use to decorate. But there are flame resistant fabrics. Plus I would think that a teacher oriented store would have those kinds of decorations. As far as the over the door thing....not sure maybe one designed for a college dorm.

There are 100$ carnival cards available through Verizon Smart Rewards.

Ok...another quick question. Nosing around on Verizon rewards and I found another cruise line gift certificate and it lists a bunch of exclusions.
So what rules apply to the Carnival cards. Can you use them for excursions and shipboard items? Or just bookings?

Thanks. That is where I have been looking, but I have not had any luck. So I was afraid that I was looking in the wrong place.

Prepaid Visa or AMEX Bluebird?
in Saving Money on Your Cruise - Tips & Advice

I am probably too late to comment on this to help you. DO NOT use Bluebird card on cruise Sign and Sail. They will put a hold on for each purchase and then afterwards will charge the entire amount. The hold will last for up to 30 days. So basically you are double charged and can't do anything about it.
