  1. We were on the Harmony in January.  We have been cruising for the last 20 years.  We ladies gussy up every night, not necessarily formal dresses but something a step above "church" clothing.  Our guys wear suits on formal nights and usually a dress shirt and slacks the other evenings.  I saw a table (every night actually) of 10.  The women looked like they stepped off the runway,  the guys wore t-shirts and jeans most nights (they looked very inappropriate)

I've looked and can't seem to find what other places besides the Windjammer & Sorrentos are open on Anthem embarkation morning. Thought about the Chops lunch for $22 to avoid the craziness of the WJ. Never been on a ship this size, biggest so far is Freedom. Thanks in advance

Cafe 270 is excellent and open for lunch.

  3. As you are facing the Aqua theater,  to the right are some stairs, there are several chairs that allow you to watch the show if you don't want to get  mixed up in the crowd .  You can also go in the door on that deck and walk to the elevators without having to fight the crowd after the show lets out.

Sailing out of Port Canaveral on Harmony in July. I haven't sailed from there before, and given that it is known to be a port where many drive in, I'm guessing that it will be a mostly American demographic.

Coming from Scotland, I'm slightly worried that I'll be an outsider on this ship. It felt like that on Anthem a few years ago where almost every guest was from NY/NJ. Sailing out of Barcelona on the Symphony last year was nice since no particular nationality dominated the ship, it felt like a good mix of cultures.

Anyone who has sailed the Canaveral 7 nighters, what is the typical demographic like?

We sailed on HOTS in January out of Canaveral.  We met people from EVERYWHERE,  you will enjoy yourself.  The solarium on this ship is amazing.

Thank you all for your honest input!  You all have been very helpful!

We just got off the Harmony in January.  We ALWAYS book ocean balcony.  This time we booked CP and loved it.  We were on deck 10, just above the Trellis Bar.  Nice music throughout the day and evening.  We received a bottle of wine and free lunch at Jamies Italian (absolutely delicious).  The solarium has deck 15 & 16, with no swimming pool.  Hot tubs only, but to tell the truth, we spent more time there than we did anywhere.  So relaxing and excellent bartenders.

Hi Kevins girl,  really enjoying your thread . Fabulous photos and great narration.

We are looking forward to our fourth Alaska cruise in May. Previous cruises have all been end August and September so this is a new adventure for us.

Your thread is making me more excited as time goes on, we are not sailing on Celebrity but we did exclusively until 2009, but that’s no matter I am enjoying your thread.

Thanks, and good wishes to you,  Jean.

Jean, you didn't mention what ship you are taking in May.  We also have been to Alaska in September and are going again on the Ovation May 2020.

We live in the Seattle area.

Daughter and her family and group of friends all missed their Vancouver cruise due to an Amtrak delay. Stuck on the train for 3 hours and Amtrak would not let them off.

Personally, I’d fly from SEA to Vancouver

I believe we would come a few days before the cruise so that shouldn't be a problem.  Maybe I should contact a travel agent..we have always booked everything ourselves but this seems to be a bit of a challenge...

  8. We took the Anthem on the New England/Canada cruise.  There were so many Diamond members that they had to open the bar right outside the Diamond lounge to accommodate the masses!  I hope (and I am sure) there is another concierge in the Diamond lounge by now.  The one we had was only available when it was time to close down the lounge!  the 3 drinks are loaded to your card so if the lounge is crowded, just go to another bar.  BTW, the drink vouchers DO NOT work at the Bionic Bar.  Enjoy being diamond!
