thank you for your updates.
Unfortunately we didn't find out soon enough and were already on the plane in shanghai before we heard about the news of cancellation.
we will probably stay here a few days as scheduled but want to get to Hong Kong by air.
will Azamara refund that cost as we were supposed to sail to that port and fly home at the end of the sailing?
Is there a local office in shanghai that we can be in contact with??

I don't know how accurate this is.....as it is only hearsay from another entertainer on Quest two weeks ago, but I was told that Jim Badger was not presently booked for any further contracts on Quest for the foreseeable future. It was implied by the other entertainer that this was Jim's own choice.
As I said, just hearsay though and I hope he does return in the future, as he is certainly entertaining.

I am not surprised actually. We were very surprised that he was still on in May 2011, as he had said he was going to stop before that sailing. Was just hoping to see an old friend on board. Hopefully whomever replaces him will be as entertaining.

Hello,
I am the travel agent as well as the client. When we were on the plane before takeoff I called in to Azamara and gave them contact information for my hotel, cell phone and email incase the trip cancelled.
I found out from a friend who was also scheduled on this trip.
Also I had a client booked in it as well. I never received an email about him either. I'm sure you thought that the agent would be the contact but in this case we were not.
As far as covered expenses I will send in to the office when I return home.
We have hotel, visa, meals, and other expenese incurred. Since we wouldn't have come to Shanghai if not for the cruise we would hope they will be covered.
We have been on 6 Azamara sailings and understand how these things can happen. However the clients will need to be made whole.
Thank you for updating this board. Being in Asia it's been the only good communication received.
