  1. I know things have changed a lot but the last time we cruised NCL was 1989 on the Seaward & Starward. Did not cruise for about 10 yrs then stated back with RCCL & Carnival. I'll be honest here...we loved Carnival but this last smoking policy change has us back looking at NCL. Soooooo... need to know the latest & greatest...Any info would help such as Room service ? Pizza? Deli? Lido deck amenities? Tipping policies? Self assist debarkation? Freestyle dining ? Plus any other info you may know that may be helpful. Looking at the Getaway mid May to the Eastern Caribbean Thanks...

  2. We were told by our dining room waiter ship was 900 people under capacity - no lines on ship anywhere - except on debarkation day as no decks were called for self assist debarking - They let the entire ship out at once 7:15 am mass confusion & line cutting....and lots of upset people....

  3. Just got off yesterday also , DD got sick Monday - DW got sick Thursday - Low grade fever, vomiting, diarrhea for 24 hrs, but I escaped it - Both Mon & Wed ate in the dining room - DD Prime RIB DW Short Ribs - We were told Thursday by a couple we met early in the week who also got sick the line to the infirmary was 25 deep Wed night. No announcements made to passengers & no additional hand sanitizers in place ....1st time in almost 20 cruises anyone in my family got sick...But still had a great time !!!

  4. We just happened to pick the perfect week to cruise on the Liberty back in 2009 - 1st, there are multiple screens (8 or 9 if I remember correctly) in the sports bar - but do not be surprised if it is mostly occupied by basketball fans...especially during March madness or the NBA playoffs which happen to coincide with the NHL playoffs. 2nd, if the bar isn't packed with rabid basketball fans ask the bartender to see if they can find an NHL game. NBC will probably be your best bet to find a game as they seem to carry all the playoff games now. 3rd, we got to watch Game 7 on the big screen on the lido deck (NBA travel dates between playoff games left an open date) Doesn't get much better than that...especially when you're a Penguins fan !!!

  5. We were on the Liberty last year in March & were in cabin 6452 (aft wrap) weather was not the greatest - even missed Roatan cause the ship could not dock. Experienced no motion or shuttering problems & we even booked the same cabin for this years cruise. Don't be surprised if you "sway" back & forth for a few days when you get home - it seems to happen on all cruises...Have fun !!!

  6. We were on the Freedom last year & we requested the balcony divider open & there was only 1 problem...the dividers opened inward from the railing it could not be secured to anything because the doors to the room would have been blocked - it became a little annoying as it banged all nite long - eventually we put a temporary shim in the opening at nite which kept it in place -just fyi

  7. Ingredients

    1 lb dark chocolate

    1 lb butter

    10 eggs

1/2 cup plus 4 tbsp sugar

1/2 cup less 4 tbsp flour

    Melting Chocolate Cake

We scaled Carnival's recipe down but couldn't help but share it in its original form. Serving 90, it called for 8 pounds of dark chocolate, 8 pounds of butter, 80 eggs, 5 pounds of sugar and 5 pounds of flour! This kitchen-friendly version will make 10 to 12 individual cakes. Make sure that the eggs are at room temperature and chocolate is still warm when combining.

    1. Melt the chocolate and butter together.

    2. In a seperate bowl, mix the eggs and sugar; whisk for a few minutes, then add the flour.

    3. Add the egg mixture to the melted chocolate and mix.

    4. Pour the mix into greased individual serving dishes. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees celsius (between 375 and 400 fahrenheit) for 14 minutes.

    5. Enjoy warm! Cruise Critic member tinabrn says it's "awesome with ice cream."
