  1. We just got off of the Allure, and normally our dinner service would take between 90-120 minutes, however, there were two nights when we needed to make our show reservations, and they happily sped up the service for us. Never had one problem. The waitstaff are incredibly nice and accommodating.

  2. I have thick, stick straight, fine hair, so I need to put in a fair amount of effort as well. I usually allow my hair to air dry while I put on my make up, which helps, even if it's only for a few minutes. Then I use my own hair dryer because the ones they provide on ships and hotels never have enough power to them.

If you aren't getting your hair wet at the pool/beach, have you ever thought of occasionally using dry shampoo to prep your hair for easy styling and volume? Sometimes that's a life saver for me when I don't want to spend a lot of time on my hair, but still want it to look nice.

  3. Thank you so much for both of your responses. I looked up Mullet Bay and read about the ease of grabbing a bus to take us there, so that sounds like a really nice way to spend our day. We can even grab a bite to eat at the grill shack on the beach!

  4. We will be visiting St. Maarten while cruising on the Allure in August, and my plan was to not book an excursion, but just tour on our own. I was thinking of just sticking close to the cruise ship, maybe hanging on the beach at Great Bay and then doing some shopping around the area of Old Street. Should safety be a concern since it will only be myself and my 9 year old daughter?

  5. I'm interested as well! We're thinking of sailing on the Allure in August, and this is the one port that I'm unsure on what to do with my 8 year old daughter. I've only been here once before, which was about 10 years ago, and we explored the fort and a little bit of the town, but that was about it.
