Other than booking with the ship - we are sailing Dec 24 on RCL - any suggestions about just picking up a cab and sightseeing, safely 

Do we need to make reservations beforehand for the Ice Show - is it an every night event ?

I've been reading a lot of threads - but most are fairly old - We are going on HAL - Panama Canal Cruise April 2014 - stopping in Puerto Limon, CR and would like to have some Recent recommendations for tours - anything but zip lining :) Thank you
