  1. I think the rate price shown would be at the guarantee level (where you can't select specific room). Carnival puts a premium on the ability to select a specific roo. I think when the OP didn't select this option it defers to the higher rate. It's the same with the pack and go rates as they select you room too.

  2. I was on the fascination this morning and had to get the steward to contact his supervisor for the official letter and zone 1 tags. They appeared to have left me off the list, so I would ask the steward if they forget to get you your correct tags the night before. I had bought my FTTF months in advance. Enjoy!

  3. Man don't tell me that.... We were huge fans of the Monarch and I believe Enchantment replaced it. :o

I was quoting from the OP's previous review of an RCCL cruise that is mysteriously not in their signature (not to mention the lack of the one carnival cruise). I was pointing out their last cruise was worse, at least this was an improvement.

  4. Thanks for your opinion. Sorry you had a bad experience.

At least it wasn't like you're enchantment of the seas experience from August.

Maybe princess is more along your lines since it has had no issues?

Better luck on your next cruise experience.

"We also were on the enchantment in August. We have been on about 15 cruises.....this one was the cruise from hell. It was the worst cruise that you could imagine. My wife wrote a letter to RCCL....they never responded. DO NOT GO ON THIS SHIP.

  5. This will be my 4th cruise on the Fascination and my 7th cruise out of Jacksonville. When we purchased FTTF in May we enjoyed getting on the Freedom early.....it almost seemed like we had an extra day on the ship...

I am hoping that I can make this entire experience as positive as possible...since it will be the first cruise since my husband's death.....I made it to Jacksonville today (and he always did all the driving...he was a truck driver anyway).....so that is a positive first step.....

Sorry for your loss. When you put it that perspective, It makes everything different in relation to the original question. I have to take my foot out of my mouth now. I have the Paul Harvey voice going off in my head now. Now I know...the rest of the story.

I rue the day my DW or I would experience the same and would think $25 is a small price to consider from enjoying an experience that we once shared together.

  6. I don't remember the beaches there...but their beaches in their excursions would be pretty crowded, you could get a private cab once you get off the ship and ask to go to a pretty and secluded beach

She more than likely will remember you asking more than the exact beach, you might get to know someone that would be nearby and could take a picture of the moment (to have framed later) and schedule a cake or strawberries or champaign (sp) when you get back on the ship....you think two steps ahead it makes it more special

You could always just propose on the ship in front of one of those fake beach back drops...that way you know you have a pro there to take the photo and you get it back the next day...then recreate the moment later on the beach....or you could do it the other way around...

  7. My personal thought would be to not rush as you already have priority boarding once you get to the port.

No matter what, it's YOUR cruise and if spending $25 makes you enjoy it more...go for it!

I have been on this ship before (when it's been cold). Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr going under the dames point with rainy weather and 30+ mph winds... Yikes

$25 bucks buys 3 dod's when you get on (plus tax while in port) or almost a soda card for the trip....the fascinations not that big of a ship and doesn't have all the activities the other ships have...yes you may get to eat sooner and walk around if it were a bigger ship like the dream/sunshine/breeze where there's more to do than maybe yes. The pool will be too cold to swim in, maybe warm enough for the "hot" tubs...

however if this was in warmer weather, yes, I would go to the pool early before the crowd and it would be worth the money

Not to mention, you need to either get a cab ride back ($25) or make sure to secure the shuttle ride back (since you didn't ride over they might not bring you back).

Could get expensive fast if they leave you at the port....worth asking if they can just do one way back?
