  1. Hi all, our plans were to get a hotel room in Miami on Saturday night and then going back to airport in morning and taking a $70 shuttle to Port Everglades Sunday morning. Well I found we can rent a car for $35 in Miami airport and drop off at Fort Lauderdale airport on Sunday morning and take a $15-$20 taxi ride to the Port Sunday morning. At least this way if we want to get something to eat or drive around Miami a bit Saturday night or Fort Lauderdale Sunday morning we can without having to worry about someone else driving us and not being able to make any stops. Our flight doesn't get in until after 10pm Saturday night so we'll probably run thru a drive thru that night & then to the hotel to crash. Unless anyone has an opinions on what we could do that late or early Sunday morning before dropping off our rental car?

  2. Its a flight out of FLL

Are you cruising out of Miami or Fort Lauderdale?

We cruised the Breeze in July, and had a flight out of FLL at 10:50.

We did make it in plenty of time, with doing self debarkation, HOWEVER, it was a risk.

If for any reason the debarkation is delayed, you could be in trouble.

We were willing to take the risk, after having to sit at FLL for 8 hours the year before.:eek:

    Good Luck!!!!!!:D

  3. Hi all, we'll be in Cozumel in March on the Carnival Conquest and we'll probably be doing an ATV excursion but after it's over, what else does everyone recommend we do before getting on the ship. Can't really book another excursion because departure times for most are in the morning.

  4. Hello all,

This will be our 1st cruise in March and we decided after 4 wonderful cruises on Carnival we'd try out the Liberty of The Seas, going to Belize and Cozumel. What differences will I find on RCI than I would on Carnival? Other than it being a better cruise line lol Is dinner in the main dining room the same? Do they offer the same type of buffets as Carnival? Any info I could get I'd really appreciate. Thanks!

  5. So glad you mentioned those vents LOL I just changed my cabin # to 9265 :D

We always book cabins on the Lido deck, except for Spirit class ships. (Those do not have cabins on the Lido deck.) Awesome deck, very close to the pool, the buffet. Going back to the cabin for something is quick. There are fewer cabins so there is much less foot traffic. We've never had problems with noises from the elevator, the atrium, nor sounds from the Lido deck.

That said, we were in 9276 on Liberty. (Same layout as Freedom.) We had a vent over our heads that sounded like a train 24/7. It was horrible! Didn't matter if the balcony door was open or closed. I hardly slept for seven nights. We did not enjoy spending time on our balcony.

The guy standing on the balcony shows 9274.

That was my 10th Carnival cruise. By then, I should have been smart enough to look at the exterior of the ship when choosing a cabin. Had I known, I would have moved more forward, far, far away from those stupid vents. I learned a very expensive lesson!

My honest opinion is to book a different cabin on the Lido deck, anywhere forward of 9268 (port) or 9265 (starboard).

  6. Hi all, we reserved our cabin # 9274 on the Carnival Freedom for next Sept. Have never stayed on Lido deck before, hoping it's a good choice. Our room is right next to the elevators it looks like and right next to Millennium too. Has anyone stayed around this particular area on this ship and because it's so close to Millennium will there be a lot of noise?

  7. I just booked a cruise on the Freedom ship for 9/22/14 5 days to Ocho Rios & Grand Cayman. Haven't ever been to either location so we are definitely excited. If anyone has sailed on Freedom, how did you like it? We booked a balcony cabin on Lido Deck 9274. Once you go balcony, you never go back LOL

  8. This is the very first sunrise on our very first cruise. Taken in 2006 from the Disney Magic, just prior to pulling in to Castaway Cay. :)

Awesome sunset shot. I made it the background on my computer desktop, looks great. Hope you don't mind.

  9. We are possibly going to be going on a Western Caribbean cruise next April and Ocho Rios is one of the stops. I would love to do the Dunns River Falls tour but my brother who spent a week in Jamaica a few years back said him & his wife did the falls tour and 1/2 of the way up they got oout because it was so dangerous and he is in very good shape. He said I'd never make it and not to waste my money. He said it is so slippery and it is like walking up ice. Is this true ? Would love for any reviews of the Falls that anyone has, danger, fun, how long does it take to get up to top ? Anything you want to share is great.
