We were on Deck 11, mustering in Kings Court. While some might find it boring, I welcomed the chance to get a 'first look' at my shipmates.
One particular memory was a white-haired Japanese couple, immaculately dressed and perfectly matched; he in a modest but luxurious wool suit, she in a long silk dress which was exquisitely designed and executed.
As she strode gracefully to her muster station, she obediently carried before her the gaudy orange life jacket, held straight out in front by one rigid arm, as if it were a foul-smelling thing.
