  1. Try Barb's fish and chips down on fishermans wharf, it is on the walking route to downtown Victoria. It is outside eating. There is a number of eateries there or just grab a coffee. Try google http://fishermanswharfvictoria.com/

Walk around the wharf and see the unique boat houses. You can also catch the harbour ferries from fishermans whart - check the maps, times and schedules for info http://www.victoriaharbourferry.com/tours-services/water-ballet. I am quite sure they operate in the early evening as long as it is light out. It is a flat easy walk from the cruise ships at Ogden point to downtown. If you don't want to venture far this is right beside the cruise ship dock - easy walk, great view of the water http://www.ogdenpoint.org/ and there is a little café there as well

Walk thru the Empress Hotel, lots of great historic pictures, and a grand hotel.

or take a cab to Romeos at 1703 Blanshard the best spaghetti and meat balls and reasonably priced. About 10 minute drive from Ogden Point - but still in the downtown core.

    Enjoy you trip

  2. After reading all the reviews we booked with Captn Marvins last year. We called them and gave them our CC# If you are a no show because your ship is not able to make it in they will not charge you. If you are a no show - just not showing up I am sure they would charge you. If your ship arrives in port late or leaving early they adjust their times.Very professional well run group. You board a bus and it takes you thru the small town to the Marina. Happy, upbeat and knowledgable, I would definitely book again. We also went to stingray city, I was very worried about getting into the water with all the creatures. Everyone else was in water in minutes ( no flippers allowed) I did finally get in the water for a few minutes, I was uncomforable but at least I can say I did it. The stingrays swarm around you looking for food. The tour operates keep track of you and give you food for the rays. Captn Marvins stop at 3 different snorkel sites, the water is not very deep, but lots of fish.

  3. Always allow 2 hours at the airport as some days there can be huge long line-ups at the airline check in counter and customs. 2 hours is a comfortable time to find your airline check in counter, fill in customs forms, etc. The drive from the pier to YVR should only take about 30- 45 minutes but allow extra time for traffic delays.

  4. Yes the area is safe, but heavy traffic area. Not sure about the inside of the hotel as I have never stayed there. I believe the hotel is not that old. Easy to drive down Number 3 road and Lansdowne ( 10 - 15 MIN)- huge shopping mall. Lots of Asian restaurants in the area. Continue south on number 3 road just past Westminster Hwy ( road) and there is another large shopping centre on your right Richmond Square. I used to live in Richmond for 25 years, now I live in another area in greater Vancouver.
