We did use Reggie's Tours and they were great! We were late getting off the ship and Dennis waited for us and took us to meet up with the tour. Our tour guide, Allen, was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a fun excursion. I highly recommend Reggie's Tours!

Just got off the Caribbean Princess yesterday and here are the low and high points:
Low points:
- Rough seas the first two days, so moving around was a challenge. This is not Princess' fault. Just thought I'd throw that in.
- Most of the time, the public toilets were "under maintenance", so you had to go back to your room to use the restroom. They also smelled pretty bad the whole trip. I'm not sure if this was a result of the rough seas or not.
- The crew wasn't nearly as friendly as our last Princess cruise. They often seemed annoyed to be there. Maybe the rough seas were getting to them. I can't imagine it was easy to do their jobs with the ship swaying so badly.
- Lots of solicitations for the wine tasting, beverage packages and/or private restaurants during breakfast in the buffets. Once would have been okay but several crew members would come over during one meal, so your conversation was interrupted three or four times.
- The ship definitely needs updating. Rusted areas, stains on walls and carpets. Just worn looking all the way around. I understand it is due to go to dry dock this month.
- I think we had a new room steward. I had to repeatedly ask for things (towels, water, etc).
- This didn't affect us but a pipe burst on the deck 15 and flooded at least one cabin on deck 14.
- The only downfall in the dining room was that we often did not get our coffee until after we were finished with dessert. We like to have our coffee with our dessert. Not a huge issue, just annoying.
High Points:
- The food in the dining room was great, as was our head waiter Artur.
- The weather in the ports was awesome (Roatan, Belize and Cozumel)
- Had a great time even with all of the "low points".
- Our beds were comfortable. Our sons were in pullman beds, which were not as comfortable but they had not trouble sleeping.
- We were on a cruise and not at work!! :)
Overall, the cruise was great. Most of the passengers were friendly and not pushy. We enjoyed the trivia challenge and we watched the bingo games. We went to the Movies under the Stars most nights. Only made it to the theater for the comedian towards the end but what we heard was funny. We went to the variety show one night. It was just fair. Even with all the low points, it was well worth the trip! Can't wait for our next cruise!!

Just got back from our cruise and wanted to let everyone know that the inside cabin had plenty of room for the four of us. We just kept the upper bunks folded up during the morning/day whenever we were in the room. There is lots of storage for all clothes and utilities. I would definitely do it again!!

There are others, but we had a great tour with Reggie's Tours. Small group (4). We got off the tender at the same time as some of the ship excursion folks were getting off. But we were there before them and practically had the place to ourselves for most of the time.
Just booked with Reggie's. Thanks!

We would like to go to Altun Ha in Belize. Which tour company do you recommend?

I would like to clarify:
There is not way to text on board, except through the ship's wifi, which is expensive. So, I need to turn my iPhone 6 to airplane mode to avoid any charges while on the ship. Did someone also say to leave wifi on? Why is that? Just clarifying here.
We have Verizon, so we can use the Travel Pass while in port (Roatan, Belize and Cozumel). From what I read on the Verison site, we text TRAVEL to 4004 to activate the Travel Pass. When we get to port, take the phone off of airplane mode and make sure the carrier is listed as Verizon.
Are these the correct procedures? I do not want to come back with an $800.00 bill. :o Thanks!

I spoke with the health department yesterday. They said if you are only going for the day (like for an excursion) bug repellent should be fine. If you are going to be staying in Roatan for several days, you should take the meds. She also suggested wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt, if possible, to reduce the amount of exposed skin. Just FYI.

There was a post on our roll call board about malaria in Roatan. Has anyone else heard about this being an issue?

Yes to all of your questions. Pods are very convenient.
Thanks!! :)

Can you bring your own laundry detergent? Do they take powered, liquid or can you use laundry pods?
We will be on Caribbean Princess.
Thanks!

Thanks everyone!

We will be on a 6 day cruise. We will drive down stay in Ft. Lauderdale the night before the cruise. I'm not bringing many clothes. I'll mix and match and can always use the laundry if needed. We are in an inside cabin (4 people) and we are in need of new luggage. I was trying to figure out what luggage and sizes gives you more space but isn't bulky itself. I understand there is room to store luggage under the beds but I'm not sure how many pieces and sizes will fit. The other three travelers are guys and will not require much in the way of luggage. They travel very light.
-
What type of luggage do you take on your cruises? I'm trying to find lightweight luggage that will hold what I need to take with me. I'm trying to keep it to a minimum.

Thanks!

Where is the Princess Cruises port in Roatan?

Thanks everyone! The Maitre D' in the MDR has always been very helpful. He and my son came up with some really tasty meals on our last cruise! We will definitely seek out the Maitre D' at the Crown Grill when we get settled after boarding.
-
I love all of the responses! Now, if we could just be guaranteed to win in the casino! That would be two fun times for the price of one.
-
If you have certain dietary needs (no dairy), will the specialty restaurants accommodate those? The MDR does an excellent job. I didn't know if you could send that type of information when you make reservations or not.
-
Thanks everyone. I understand that it is just applied to my account. I was just wondering what you would spend an "extra" $50.00 on during your cruise.
Steelers36, I was thinking about going to one of the specialty restaurants. We've never done that before. It could be a nice change from the MDR.

My husband and I have a small amount of on board credit ($25.00 each). What would you put this amount of money towards? Just getting ideas.
TIA

The website was working for me this morning. Maybe they are finished with "maintenance".
-
Seems like Princess needs to work on their website. I had no idea this was a regularly occurring issue.
-
The customer service rep said they are having difficulty with their site. She thinks it has probably been overloaded due to the tragedy in Fort Lauderdale yesterday. She advised me to try again tomorrow. She did confirm all of my cruise information, so that made me feel better.

I'm afraid not. The young ladies who were in the cabin that flooded didn't mention the cabin number.
