  1. Our GPS re-routed us, so we did not take the tunnel when arriving. We did take it to leave, and everything went very smooth.

Parked in the garage across from H, but the terminals were marked wrong, and our ship was actually at G. Lucky for us, when we arrived this morning, the ship was at H.

    Thanks for the advice!

  2. My husband and I heard a page during dinner last night around 6:30-7 for "Alpha alpha alpha." Around 8:30, the captain announced that we would be heading back to Key West at full speed due to a medical emergency and shortly after 9PM, everyone was evacuated from decks 9 & 10 for a helicopter.

We're not too sure what exactly happened. We asked our room attendant this morning, and she said heart attack. I'm hoping the guest is okay!

  3. So....I've read several threads that say to stay away from outside parking lots and park directly at the port.

    Okay. Gotcha.

Is there any way to pay in advance or ensure I have covered parking? When I google "Port of Miami Parking" all I get are off site lots, and I don't want to book parking at the wrong place!

  4. I have had different experiences. Years ago on one cruise, all US passengers had to go to a central location on the ship and just show their passports. The cruise staff scanned our sea pass cards to make sure that everyone showed up. Non US citizens had a more detailed check. On other cruises we just waited until non US citizens reported and then the ship was cleared. You do not have to worry about customs forms or your luggage until you disembark.

I was reading a Cruise Compass from May on the same itinerary, and this is what it sounded like. They referred to it as "immigration" and "inspections" so I assumed this would be similar to customs. We don't go on a lot of cruises, so I didn't know if it was the same thing or not.

Thank you for the replies! This makes more sense to me, now.

  5. I've never been on a cruise that stops at a US location before the end of the cruise, so I never considered having to clear customs before we disembark.

We are going on the Enchantment of the Seas in a couple of weeks, and it stops in Key West before returning to Miami, and it looks like we will have to clear customs at that port.

My question is, will we have to go through customs again in Miami?

  6. No pressure! ;) :D

LOL! Until tonight, I honestly had the ships confused and I thought the nicer ship was leaving from PC and the older ship had the better itinerary. I've seriously driven myself crazy looking at so many itineraries while working out our hotels before and after. I think I need the vacation just from booking this one!

  7. My husband and I are taking a last minute trip to FL soon, and I'm debating between booking Enchantment of the Seas leaving from Miami and going to Key West, or booking Majesty of the Seas out of Port Canaveral and going to Nassau.

We will be driving down and staying at Disney the weekend before and Universal the weekend after, so leaving from PC is more convenient. But I know Majesty of the Seas is a smaller ship and is also much older. Our first cruise was on Sovereign of the Seas and we were also engaged on that cruise, so there is a little bit of sentimental value.

On the flip side, I've always wanted to visit Key West. We've done Nassau on just about every cruise, so I don't really care about that port. I'm just wondering if Enchantment of the Seas would be worth the drive to/from Orlando.

We aren't big time cruisers. We've done 4 cruises total: Sovereign, Liberty, Oasis, and Carnival Dream.

    Thoughts? Thank you in advance!

  8. I just booked one of these rooms on the Dream. The employee at Carnival told me that they are one of Carnival's best kept secrets. You pay for an interior room, but you do actually get a window. Even though they are categorized as interior cabins, they are referred to as "Skyview" cabins. I guess there is a door outside these cabins that goes to a small "balcony" that anyone can get to, but no one really visits except those in the rooms near the doors.

I'm super excited about it! I just wish I could find actual pictures of one somewhere!!

  9. I thought I would try to post this here and see if I get any response...

DH and I are thinking of booking an Eastern Caribbean cruise on FOS in the next few months, but I'm wanting to look at a copy of a recent Compass from this cruise and get a better idea of what kind of activities they have during the cruising days.

I know the Compass won't be the same, but it will give me an idea of what to expect.

    Thanks a bunch!!
