Hi to all! How is the WIFI on the Jade? Thanks!
Hi ashleyriley,
We were on the Jade a couple of weeks ago, the wi-fi has been updated, access was much easier and it is said to be four times faster, it seemed to be improved over last year. Hope that helps.

Try e-mailing specialeventsgem@ncl.com to try and arrange it, if not contact the GSC on board. Are you on the Roll Call? Talk to whoever is running it and see if they can help. Good luck.

On our recent TA on the Jade, I arranged with the CD and the GSC that we could hold a Veterans Social Club (also called a Veterans Coffee Social) in one of the meeting rooms. I run a couple of Veterans Breakfast Clubs in the UK where we meet for breakfast and a chat, very informal and very good to meet new people. As they could not supply breakfast the name was changed to Veterans Social Club and the Jade gave us the use of a meeting room, from 0830 until 1000, and refreshments. The first meeting held on a Saturday (sea day) attracted 22 Veterans, mainly from the US Armed Forces and the second. on the following Saturday attracted 28. There was a lot of chatter and what we call banter and everyone agreed that it was a great success. I recommend that you contact NCL at specialevents(ships name ie jade)@ncl.com and ask if it is possible to arrange a Veterans Social Club on your next cruise. It works best if you have a sea day that is a Saturday or a Sunday and that you fit in before the religious groups use the meeting rooms. Good luck and if I can be of any help, please contact me at magickpyg@aol.com

There was a hop on - hop off bus that went past the old walled city, but be warned, we chose this as it was billed by NCL as 90 minutes and turned out to be over three hours+!
We went past the old walled city at least three times on one circuit!

No hot tub, and can't comment about smoking. Can be noisy on the balcony.

We had an issue with inappropriate language from the crew pool area, during the day, and as we had attended the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet we had the card with all the officers handy phone numbers. One call to the HD, and within 5 minutes, silence, attend the Meet and Greet, get the card, just don't call him/her at 3am lol.

This link lets you look at each deck on the Breakaway and gives you the approx sizes for the staterooms, enjoy!

First thing I would do is attend the Meet and Greet and chat to the Executive Chef and the Food and Beverage and Restaurant Managers, you should get a card with their handy-phone numbers on it at the Meet and Greet. The fish in Cagney's is excellent as is the fish in Le Bistro. Moderno will be the salad bar, which is excellent with a lot of choice, and you might be able to negotiate with the Chef at Teppanyaki, but as someone said there is a lot of oil!
Hope this helps.

She is due a refit, iConcierge, Photobooth, Moderno re-location and O'Sheeans etc, our cruise on Oct 8th was cancelled. Would be nice to see her after refit.

Other major changes should be the iConcierge facility and the updated Photobooth area. We look forward to seeing the changes next October.

We always make friends with our Butlers, and they all remember us, like meeting old friends. We had that suite on the Star on a Baltic cruise and the Butler served our dinner on the balcony as we left Stockholm to sail through the Archipelago, magical.
You can check out our photos of that cruise at http://www.flickr.com/photos/magickpyggie/sets and clicking on the Star.
I like English tea and the Butler filled my thermos flask with boiling water every night, and made sure fresh milk was available, sad I know, but I get up early and need my comforts. He will bring you snacks, but tell him what you like and don't like.
Enjoy, we have never looked back after our first suite adventure.

We sailed on the Jade in February 2015 and there was no Chocaholic buffet, but one night every restaurant put on a special chocolate dessert offering.
Sorry.

We had an aft facing penthouse on the Star especially for the trip from Helsinki to Stockholm and Stockholm to Copenhagen through the archipelago, those are the days to get the Butler to serve dinner on the balcony. It was a fabulous cruise, you can check out our pictures at www,flickr.com/photomagickpyggie/sets and select the Star cruise. Enjoy the cruise.
Sorry the link should be http://www.flickr.com/photos/magickpyggie/sets

We get off the Jade in Barcelona on October 15, 2016 and her next cruise is her TA on Oct 29, so refit should be then.

Just watched our local BBC news programme and they talked about the potential for a new Cruise Terminal at Hull and used an image of the Norwegian Jade. Wouldn't it be great to see NCL cruising from a UK port, and especially the Jade. Come on NCL, we need you to sail out of the UK,

Hi there,
We have quite a good Roll Call running be great to see you there, lots of things planned for all those sea days.

And just to add to the fun, "posh" stands for Port out Starboard home. So posh people had port or left side cabins sailing along the Spanish, French and Italian coasts into the Mediterranean Sea and right hand, or starboard cabins on the way back home, so the cabin was always in the shade! And the fish in the carpets always swim to the front of the ship.

Hi Bob and Christine,
We cruised the Baltic's in the Star in 2013. We had an aft suite because I had traveled on business between Stockholm and Helsinki and the Archipelago is stunning and I wanted my wife to see it. In fact we had dinner on the balcony as we cruised out of Stockholm.
Our images from the trip are on http://www.flickr.com/photos/magickpyggie/sets which will give you some idea of the views. We prefer the Jade and found the Star lacking a bit, but that was our opinion, just spoiled by the Jade I guess. It's a great adventure.
Very bests

Like others we prefer 10000 or 10500 for the extra space of the bump out and have sailed in 10664 and 10666 (aft facing). We have never noticed motion, and are booked in 10500 for the Jade TA in October. My DW loves to sit on the balcony and has no issues with the wind unless the ship is heading into wind at speed then the door can be an issue.
Photos of 10500 and the other Suites we have enjoyed are at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/magickpyggie/sets please enjoy them and ask any questions. Have a great cruise.
