  1. Not necessarily. Oceania must have a threshold below which they will not go on their offers. If they can get someone on board a ship even at a rock bottom price, Oceania's data must tell them that the bargain bookee's purchases of liquor, ship-sponsored excursions, spa services, internet, etc. will more than justify selling a stateroom at a lower price.

I'm guessing it is a rare person who pays nothing extra when settling the bill the final night. The cost of any cruise I've taken is definitely more than the price of the basic stateroom!

We are preparing to leave on our 4th Oceania cruise and only one time did we have to pay to settle our bill and that was because I needed some Physio therapy on the voyage due to a pulled muscle.

  2. Even on sea days, it is absolutely empty at noon. We usually slept late, ate breakfast late, and we weren't hungry for lunch until 1 or 2. So noon was perfect for doing laundry any day.

Hi: We have traveled on Oceania for 4 cruises and I find trying first thing in the morning, ( before breakfast). I'm an early riser, or about 4:30 in the afternoon was the best time to visit the laundry. Having Tokens before hand really speeds up getting the laundry done. I always purchase enough for 4 washes & dryers at a time. We use a popup laundry cube to store our clothes until laundry time.

We have NEVER had any Dragon Ladies to deal with. Upon occasion if my clothes are dry, and still time on dryer I invite someone to use the time. others do the same for me.

  3. I highly recommend Lucca. We went there on a private tour a few months ago and loved it.

On our way back we stopped off at Pisa. Not sure when you were there last but although we have been there other times we just spent a little while walking the town.

You can easily spend your entire time at Lucca. You can walk inside the city and then walk the entire walled city portion which will provide nice views.

What tour company did you use?

  4. We are investigating the possibility of booking a private tour in St Tropez. Would you be interested in considering that possibility to bring the cost down per person. Julie and I are looking for others to join us. If any interest please feel free to E-mail me on rbarryw@aol.com

We are visiting St Tropez at a port on our Itinerary next June. Did you find a private tour company an if so how was it & would you be willing to share the name please.

I'm coming up with nothing using goggle. Thanks!

  5. Taxi prices are double after dark, about $40 USD from the airport to the terminal.

There is an ATM machine at the airport, sometimes it's working, sometimes not. Usually the ship will exchange small quanities for you are a realistic rate.

You might also ask the taxi driver to stop on the way at a bank ATM.

we are leaving our ship the Marina on a Saturday night April 6, 2013 as soon as it clears customs, (we are to dock at 8 PM) to get to the airport, I understand from Hawaiian Airlines that it opens at 9:30 PM. Can you help us with instructions & any tips to get a taxi please. Our flight leaves at 12:30 AM Sunday morning. We are leaving on our own BEFORE all other passengers disembark the following day!

    Thanks!

  6. We are booked on a 1/2 day 4x4 tour with Patrick Adventure but we have not been there yet to offer an endorsement. At $60 it is the least expensive of the tours we have booked and will certainly serve to get us out of the city and see some more of the island. Good luck with your planning.

We leave on April 7th. We are also looking for things to do? do you have more info on the tour please?

    HI:

We end up in Stockholm AFTER our cruise. As we have the day before in Stockholm then back to the shipfor the night. We are looking for a hotel. we will need trasportation from pier to hotel hotel to train station or airport? We will have to store luggage while we take a 4 day trip to the Norweigen Fiords. We fly home the next day. What would you suggest for a hotel? Close to airport? or close to Train station? any suggestions?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
