I read this thread before we went our our cruise, this is what I came up with: we made starfish out of foam sheets and decorated them with glitter glue and plastic jewels. This is the door to my kid's cabin (3 kids, 3 starfish). My husband and I had 2 starfish and the hula skirt hanging from a dry erase board. For some reason I didn't take a picture of our door...

The dry erase board came in handy for leaving messages for each other and our cabin steward (more ice please, etc). If I had known our cabin doors where going to be orange, I would have come up with something with more contrast. In any case, the green hula skirt stood out and we never passed up our cabin door!

I never thought of decorating my cabin door until I read this thread, now I will probably do it on every cruise.

A book to read on the cruise? Why??

I brought one with me, along with a trip journal (thought since it was my first cruise, it would be nice to start one). There was so much to do on the ship, I never opened my book and only wrote in my journal the first day!
