  1. I am boarding Summit in 5 days and all I am reading are complaints about the ship.

Is it really that bad? What's going on?

    I was on the Summit

    April 2013 S Carribbean CC

    August 2013 Bermuda CC

    December 2013 S Carribbean AC

    March 2014 S Carribbean AC

I had a great time on each cruise. yes there are always some minor complaints, but the cruises were wonderful.

I am booked on the Connie for August - cheating on the Summit.

    Enjoy

  2. I'd like to preface this statement by saying this is just my opinion. With that said, I feel it's ridiculous to spend an "extra" $800 just to get the little differences in perks between the Select and Elite level. It would have only taken one more cruise to get you there. Again, JMHO.

    SDT

2 cabins 4 people $200 each. yes worth getting Elite staus

being 25 points short it will take 2 cruise to get there

  3. I feel your disappointment and I've been saying that they should honor the cruises that are already booked under the old program. If it was booked as of 11/23 - they should honor it. Not give you the status now - just give it to you under the old program when you would have earned it. Just my humble opinion and I know I'm in the minority here.

I booked 2 Concierge cabins for the double points which would have made us Elite -- we depart in 11 days fully paid -- now we get 35 points instead of 60 points. We fall short by 25 points now

Confirmed with Celebrity tha we lost out.

    Not happy

  4. As posted in another thread, I booked 2 concierge cabins for my family only for the double points which would make us Elite. Cruise leaves in 11 days. Instead of 60 points we will get 35 points and fall short by 25 points. I confirmed this with Celebrity. I wasted the extra money to get these cabins.

Celebrity should have made the new point system with new reservations that fully paid for. That would be fair.

If Celebrity lowers the price for your cruise after final payment, they will give you nothing. Why take away something after full payment

  5. I booked Concierge cabins for my family (2 cabins). Paid extra for the double points so we would make Elite.

Cruise leaves in 11 days, December 7, 2013 fully paid for.

Now we get 35 points not 60 - we all fall short.

There are no perks that I want, extra the double points for Elite.

Why not make the cutoff at year end or for those who are fully paid.

    I feel that I wasted $800.

Confirmed with Celebrity - told I should be happy with what I got because it is a free benefit.

We also paid the $35 pp to join. Celebrity lost that reservation with the payments. I had proof - the picture of us holding the ship's banner.

    Never got the money back

Anyone in my situation would feel burnt

I agree that the program needed updating, but I feel that I was downgraded.

  6. Ship building has be offered on one Alaska cruise and one Caribbean cruise for us.

The Caribbean cruise had 12 entries - our first competition. the winner was a six foot model with excellent detail. the winners spend 4 days building the ship.

There was one ship that was a pre-fab from home. The builders all had costumes, but their ship sunk. We didn't place, but it was fun and the whole pool area was cheering.

On the Alaska cruise - we won, but we were the only ship.

Last year, the Caribbean cruise had no event., nether did the Europe cruise.

We will be cruising the NA in March.

  7. I think they take a well aged boot and boil it for about an hour. I have tried the flat iron several times and never cared for it. My GF always seem to get a decent cut, so it is hit and miss.

I thought that the leftovers were made into boots.

I don't agree that this cut of beef is a steak.

It is a very toght piece of meat which doesn't grind well so it can't become a burger. I tried it once. I won't buy this at home and I don't want it on a cruise, but that is CCL quality and value

  8. Was on the Atlantic - Home Lines - maiden year in August 1981 to Bermuda. Price was more than I pay now and the cabins are nicer.

Did not make an impression as I did not cruise for 8 years - Celebrity Horizon - maiden year - to bermuda -- loved that cruise (food was awesome), service was great - hooked after that.

Have gone on 18 in total, 7 different lines.

Favorite is HAL, first HAL ship was the Noordam (and 2nd also) in the 1990's. Small ship 32,000 tons, but loved it and yes my young children was catered to and had a great time.

Will all be on the Westerdam in January.
