Has anyone been in Mexico/Cozumel lately? Is it safe still?

I just realized that our passports expire March 16 and we set sale March 13. I wasn't going to tell the family til Christmas about the cruise. Does anyone know what the process is to get our passports renewed? Is it just a sticker or a long 2 month fiasco like getting one for the first time?

My kids really enjoyed the club H2O (I think that's what it was called) last time for 15-17 yr olds I just realized that my oldest will be 18 by 2 mos. Will they still let him hang out there or will they push him out with the adults? I'm not sure I'm ready for him to be hanging with older than he.

Does anyone know if you can still sneak alcohol in your suitcase?

Someone said the Conquest had been remodeled since 2008. Is this true and what did that add?

Anyone that has been on a cruise in June is it miserabley hot???

Does anyone know if you can hook up a PS3 or Xbox to the TV's on the conquest?

Has anyone ever had any luck changing rooms after the final pmt is due? We have five rooms and we are trying to switch to quads and fit into 4 rooms instead. They are trying to make us give up our deposit. Has anyone had any luck with this?

I don't know if any of the cruise lines offer an excursion there or not. We always take a cab over there on our own. Their website is sunsetbeachresort.com . You can read a lot about the place online and you can contact them, also. We only had a problem one time. The cabs wouldn't take us over there because they said the resort was at capacity. I haven't heard of anyone else having this happen so I don't think it happens too often. I love the place and so do my kids. And we feel safe there. Nobody harasses you at all. Security is tight at the front gate. They do take your Sail and Sign card from you at the gate and hold it while you are in the resort. It was a little unnverving the first time they did this but I have also never heard of anyone having a problem with it being returned to them when they left.

Thank you for your reply. Do you remember how much it cost for the taxi and for the day at the resort? Did the Taxi charge per person? There are 17 of us. Did you prepay or just give a creditcard to save your spot at Sunset Beach? We are going during Spring Break so it could be at capacity, I guess.

Check out Sunset Beach Resort at Mo Bay. I have been taking my children there for several years and am very comfortable with it being safe. They sell all-inclusive day passes to cruise ship passengers.

Do you always book this thru the cruise line?

Has anyone noticed that there are only 3 excursions offered in Mo Bay? Should I be worried about taking my family there?

I haven't stayed at the Harbor House - yet, but will prior to My Feb 10 cruise. We booked Sat night prior to cruise for $97 with AAA discount and was told cruise parking would be $20 extra for the week. I understand the walk is a few blocks. We have several people staying there on our cruise and will probably take luggage and most cruisers over early, return to park and the drivers then walk over.

Does anyone know how much EZ park is? do they charge per day or per trip?

In Grand Cayman, Nativeway's Rays, Reef, and Rum Point excursion is great.

 

In Cozumel we've done the Carnival tour to Tulum and we've gone to Paradise Beach on our own. Both were great. This last time we did a 2 hour snorkel tour in a glass bottom boat.

I don't really have any suggestions for Jamaica. We were going to go to Sunset Beach for the day, but it rained so we just shopped and stayed on the ship most of the day. Margaritaville is fun though. We went their on our first 2 trips.

So what all is there to do in sunset beach?

She's correct. I never take a ship excursion. She's also correct that you really need to investigate who you do book with locally.
