I've always called. I don't know if there is an email just for diamond.

If you are in the same cabin both cruises yes, you leave your belongings as is. If you end up in different cabins your room steward will move your packed up belongings for you. My first b2b in 2004 I had different cabins. Kind of a pain in the butt. I now always make sure I get the same cabin both legs. Yes, you will get a new S&S card since two different cruises. As for excursions, for all of my b2bs I've always just stayed on the ship between cruises.

My boyfriend used his 25th milestone on a 16-day Panama Canal transit in 2011. I used mine on a 13-day Panama Canal transit in 2014. The OBC was sweet!

I know i asked this a few times now but i get different answers so one more time, do i have to call Carnival so they know we are doing a b2b or is bringing both sets of boarding documents enough?
You shouldn't have to call Carnival to make sure you are b2b. Your PVP or TA should have your cruises linked as b2b. If you booked your cruises online without a pvp or ta you might want to call Carnival and make sure linked.

Please tell me that I didn't make a mistake in booking on this ship? I just finished reading at least 7 pages on this site of nothing but negative reviews. The timing and itinerary are what I was looking for most which is why I choose the Splendor but it seems that everyone that has gone, has nothing but bad
Things to say about every aspect of the cruise. Did anyone enjoy it?
I've been on the Splendor four times with two more (b2b) booked for April. You'll be fine.

I also would be thrilled if Carnival came to Boston! We sailed on NCL to Bermuda in 2012 and the convenience for us was fantastic. 45 minute drive, park in the garage and walk across the street to the port.
I'm in central NH and I too would love a Carnival ship in Boston. I've done the NCL to Bermuda three times and so easy plus no airfare.

If that's the case, how do they take your photo when you board the ship and hear the "DING" for the first time?
My last cruise out of Miami when my passport was scanned that photo is what was used for my S&S photo.

Just so I don't break any rules, which website should I not talk about?

The one that starts with face and ends with book.

I can't seem to find funville and the forums on the carnival site, does anyone know what happened to them or where to find them?

They shut down this summer. There is a group of Funville refugees at that website we aren't supposed to talk about over here. Search former Carnival Funville.

And they took away their white Milestone cards and gave them a silver one . Hello Lizz nice to see a familiar name on here. ;)
Hi. Nice seeing you. I'm usually at fb but do on occasion check out the cruise critic forum. This thread just happened to catch my eye.

I apologize if I misinformed anyone . . . I thought when they brought in the Diamond classification it replaced the "old" Milestone category. I should do some checking now, I may be Milestone and not even know it. Do they still take 25% off your 25th . . . . 50% off your 50th, etc. ?
Yes. You still receive the % of your number milestone as OBC for whatever your cruise cost. Bill and I both reached our milestone 25 when we were platinum and received our 25% OBC. Both of us reached diamond a few cruises after our respective milestone cruises.
-
That's interesting, I thought Milestone went away with the old program. I'm at 22 cruises (Platinum) with CCL, but not even 100 nights yet. So at 25 I'll start getting white cards but still be Platinum?
No. If you are platinum when you reach your first milestone of 25 you will receive a white card for cruise # 25 and then return to platinum. Your milestone card will say Milestone 25 on it.

I was 2 cruises away from being MILESTONE (the old Diamond classification) when they changed the rules some time ago. Now I'm some 40 or 50 nights away from Diamond and at age 77 on my next cruise in October, I statistically won't probably make it. ;)
Milestone was never the old diamond classification. The milestone program is an entirely different thing milestones being cruises 25, 50, 75, 100. When they changed up the loyalty program they added diamond as an all new tier.

But a Boston to Bermuda cruise would be so tempting since we only live 30 mins north of Boston!

I would do that in a hot minute. I've done Boston to Bermuda three times on NCL but would much rather sail Carnival. :D

I took my mom on the Splendor for her one and only Carnival cruise when she was 87 years young. She had a blast.

My VIFP offers has had this message for over a month!!
* There are no new Special Offers at this time.
We update them frequently - so please check back for offers just for you
I don't understand why I have NO offers on my page any more. Is it just me or anyone else?? I"m gold and will soon be platinum with 1 trip currently booked.
Next cruise is my diamond cruise and my boyfriend is already diamond and we are still waiting for those next to nothing VIFP offers other people get. :(

You should get a letter after you complete your 24th cruise, but as stated above, I know some people who never got the letter, and had to call. I actually didn't use it until my 28th cruise, since I wanted the biggest bang for my buck, and used it on a more expensive cruise!!
My boyfriend got the letter before his 25th cruise. I didn't. I emailed Carnival and did receive an email acknowledging that I want to use my Milestone 25% on my Panama Canal cruise. Yep. I have that email printed and it is with my cruise docs for that cruise.

We were on that Panama Canal cruise last March. They held the Muster Drill outside and it was snowing quite hard and very cold. Someone built a small snowman on the Lido deck. We were able to use the hot tubs the next day but it was still too cold to sit outside. By the the third day, it was very comfortable. Sailing out of NYC is a great experience even in the winter! We have done it several times and sailing past the Statue of Liberty is unforgettable!
On the third day I got a wee bit over done by the sun. :D That was a great cruise. I'm doing the transit for the third time in August.

March 16, 2013 - NYC to Long Beach via the Panama Canal. This was a first but even with the snow it was still a lot WARMER than the day before when I left New Hampshire. :p

just be careful with the added weight. The cost of overweight baggage will far out weigh the benefits of duty free liquor.
I always travel with a digital luggage scale to save me from having to do the sidewalk luggage bag shuffle.

For those that purchase alcohol either on the ship or from one of the islands, how do you get it home safely? I mean it was great when we drove to and from port ,but flying, a whole other thing..I've seen the inflatable wine/alcohol protectors in Bed Bath and Beyond but also have seen them sold on amazon as well different companies but similar and a bit cheaper...So what does everyone use..Any suggestions would be great!
We bring liquor home with us every cruise and typically we bring some of the small bubble bubble wrap, wrap the bottle once and then put either one of Bill's socks or a t-shirt around that and then put back in the cardboard box. We put the box in the bottom of our suitcase with clothes packed around and on top of the box. We have never had a problem or a broken bottle.
Hope this helps.

I get very seasick!! I've been taking Bonine every time I cruise now. Question is: I usually take 2 and that works great, but I fight a little sleepy feeling. Do you think 1 a day would still work for someone that gets very sick without anything?? Or should I stick to 2?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Forums mobile app
I am very prone to motion sickness and I take one. I start the night before the cruise and take it every night before bed. I find I'm not as sleepy during the day if I take it at night.

Does anyone know the best way to get to the cruise terminal. We are staying at the Wyndam Garden hotel in Newark, near the airport and we are leaving our cars there the duration of the cruise with free parking.
We are 5 ppl and 5 suitcases and have no clue how to get there. What are some of the best options?? By taxi, by limo by public transportation with hopefully not to many stop overs.
Any advice would be great, thank you, with prices and websites if possible.
Thank you
Does the hotel have a free shuttle to the airport? If so you can always take their shuttle to the airport and catch the Carnival shuttle to the cruise port. That is what I did last March from EWR Marriott and what I will be doing in December from the Hampton Inn at EWR.

I had the same thing happen once... I mostly do b2b and ever since I always go to GS to make sure my cruises are linked.
