  1. I find this hard to believe.  What off site parking are you talking about? Where is it located downtown? What type of shuttles do they provide for this "forced" move?  What reason were you given for this to happen.  Most folks drive to this port and I think Carnival would be emailing us for any upcoming sailing this impacts.

Given the current quality of the platinum loyalty gift,  and/or coupled with the company selling your loyalty perks via FTTF, thus diluting your value to CCL, do you regret having a future cruise booked with CCL?

Will you book a future cruise with CCL or move on to another line?

Honestly, these two factors have left DW and I feeling under appreciated as a long term loyal returning customer.

Guessing that the cost of new customer acquisition has dropped so significantly CCL is willing to wave good bye to a loyal customer base.

    Those are our thoughts.

Just curious to hear from others.

    I don't cruise for a gift.........

  3. I’m currently on the Dream and we’re experiencing a technical issue that’s slowed us down quite a bit. The ship is skipping Progresso today in order to make Galveston Thursday morning on time.

The staff has laid laid on many more activities for us to enjoy. A $50 credit has been applied to sail and sign accounts and any excursion booked through the ship have been refunded. We left Cozumel late last night about 730pm with no explanation given as to why. Now we know.

  4. Orange County SNA would be an alternate airport as well.  Long Beach is great if it works for you.  SNA is about the same difference as LAX but much less stressful.  The traffic in and out of LAX is a mess due to construction.  These days it's not unusual to take 30-45 min to get to/from the airline terminal from the surface streets in addition to your drive time from Long Beach.

I cruise out of Long Beach often.  If all goes well I'm usually off the ship by 800am easily.  But that's with VIFP status.

My opinion is the minority's opinion according to who? We were a group of 100 ! 95 said it sucked! Enjoy your next meal at Golden Corral!

You are a typical grouchy old person from SCG.  Your opinion is the only opinion and everyone else is wrong. You're probably the oldster who had shat themselves horribly on the Granite Falls course earlier in the year.  Not knowing or caring how awful it really was.  I'm guessing you didn't care. But, everyone saw you.  You're probably the same old fool who yells at the waitress in CoCo's when she's slow to bring you your non alcoholic beer when you go there after getting your pills at the CVS as well.

Dolphin was a fun little line.  The food was great! The service was personalized.  As for your oh so witty Golden Corral remarks I've only been there a couple of times and it was full of the walking dead from SCG and SCW.  I bet you were there fueling up for another pants filling moment!

  6. We were food poisioned on the Freedom last year and were quite sure of the issue and where it came from but the cheerleaders on here shouted me down and told me how wrong and stupid I am to the point the mods took the thread down. They blamed everything and everyone but the outstanding folks at Carnival. We've been on 60+ cruises and 28 with Carnival. Never had a serious issue before and a minor one since.

Carnival is probably being scrutinized heavily by the inspection teams now as they are obviously on their radar. Hopefully, things will be addressed fleetwide and their usual high scores will return.

  7. You sound like a joy to be around in general. I love being lumped in with all of the bad parents out there. Not all kids are screaming brats. Just like not all parents don't care.

    Agreed!

The above poster is a bitter and unhappy person. Many children have good manners and know how to act in public. They get lumped into the same category as the brats no matter how well they behave. Posters like above are often just as annoying as the kids they hate so much. I'd say there's a good chance the poster was a wretched child and their boorish behavior didn't end when they become an adult!

  8. Hello RebelCruiser! I too am going solo on this cruise. This is my 2nd solo and 2nd time on Sensation. Should be a blast. Be sure to join the solo meet- up the first night on board. The time and place should be in your "Fun Times". Hope to meet you there!

    Hi Solocruzin!

I saw your post in the roll call! I booked the tubing, blue hole trip in Jamaica. 1130am departure. I love floating down the river there its fun and relaxing. I'll look for you at solo meetup the first night. When the piano bar opens I'll be there. I know Pete the entertainer in there from another trip. He's so much fun! Hope to meet you!

  9. Thanks for the review! I'll be on a 5 day Western cruise on the 29th of April. I like the Fantasy class ships overall. A good bang for the buck. I've done em all except the Sensation and the Fantasy. All the others multiple times. Go figure! Hard to find any newer info on the Sensation. I believe she just came out of dry dock not long ago.

I booked a week ago so cabin choices were limited to inside cabins and a few suites. As a solo I didn't want to pay the suite cost!

Glad to hear the bands were good and I love Pete Thompson in the Piano Bar. I've sailed with him before. Hoping the worst of Spring break has passed. I don't mind kids overall but they need to behave somewhat! I wish Carnival could enforce their rules better. I'll head back to Serenity and avoid any issues. Of course I've seen young adults back there act worse than any kids could imagine on a few cruises.

Glad you you enjoyed your trip!

  10. Just got back from the Freedom this past Saturday! Fish n chips is a BBQ place now. I did not take a pic of the menu, but they offer pulled pork, beef brisket and smoked chicken along with mac n cheese, coleslaw, baked beans, potato salad and different bbq sauces. The meat was good! We only tried the mac n cheese as a side and thought it was kinda gross lol. Tasted like noodles with flour sauce, not very cheesy :)

We ate at the Freedoms BBQ back in October and thought the mac n cheese was what gave us food poisoning. The facts all pointed back to that dish. I posted about the event on this board and the Carnival apologists and self acclaimed food safety experts had a field day! To the point the post was taken down by the admins. I've never been accused of so many nasty things and called stupid and worse so many times in my life. Glad your experience was better!

  11. When you have some people that cruise 2 or 3 times a years!! They want the service at their feet...... And the high ballers that are in SUITES.....

Wow, you like to judge people! I cruise 3-5 times a year at least. Not often but if a great deal is offered a suite as well. I've never demanded service at my feet. I do expect good service and have never felt the need to complain about any cabin servicing I've ever received on any cruise. As for suite experiences you should and often do receive service from the best rated attendants on the ship. That's why they are assigned there. So I never have demanded more from them either. I expect them to do a good job. I understand that hiccups occur usually it's no fault of the staff and things are made right quickly. In short no worries and no need to make waves....

You show your ignorance when you ASSume things about people.

  12. Hi All!

I've searched the forum and didn't find a definitive answer. I've decided to book a cruise with MSC and want to status match. I'm a regular cruiser and have tried many lines but have stuck with Carnival for the past several cruises. I want to try something new and have decided MSC would be a good line for future cruises.

I know as a Carnival Plat they'll match me to MSC Gold I have 126 days in the books with Carnival. I also have Starwood SPG Platinum status with my hotel group with 540 days in the books.

My question is which to match with? They'll honor both.

Thanks for your input and happy cruising!

  13. Guys is OK. I think they're fine and I like the condiment bar idea but I would never rave about Guys. I remember Burger Chef had a "fixins bar" so you could dress your burger as you wished so the concept isn't new.

Now if they had and "In and Out Burger at Sea" it would be a different conversation!
