  1. I am needing travel insurance pretty quick. Our trip leaves on November 1st out of Singapore. Last payment is due by Monday, the August 6th. No offices are open today. So need to get one before the last payment is made. And my husband has a pre-existing condtion. I know, I should have thought of that long ago.. Any input greatly appreciated who to call

  2. Errors of their ways?

As I read Carnivals response, drones are still prohibited to be used "On" the ship. However, you can use the ship to transport your drone to be used on land at your destination port.

I will be on the Carnival Vista in April. Where can I see that in writing that you are allowed to bring the drones? It will not be used on the ship, only at different ports.

  3. TravelInsured is great: good policies and they *pay* their claims. (That's what really matters, after all.)

But IF you need the waiver of pre-existing condition exclusions, and didn't get insurance within the 21 days, then try CSA.

(The biggest difference is that including CFAR from CSA does cost a lot extra. But by final payment, one is probably more sure of being able to go, except for an emergency that would be covered by the regular insurance.)

We get our insurance through www.TripInsuranceStore.com and they are great about answering questions and helping to sort through a variety o choices... and needs.

Hi, I bought insurance through Travel Safe. Just came back from a 2 week trip to the Canary Islands, and this is the first time from over 13 cruises that my husband needed medical care. He developed the flu and ended up going to the ship doctor. Costing us over $650.00 (plus what we paid for insurance)

Well, come to find out, which I should have read the fine print previously, is that this trip insurance is a supplemental to the health insurance we already have. I highly doubt any insurance company is going to cover you while you are sick on the ship. I have to turn it in to my insurance first before they will even consider paying anything out.. Nonsense. I don't think I will ever get trip insurance again. If I do, I will do more research. The Trip Insurance store is actually where I got my insurance, who got me Travel Safe. They are one of the 9 companies they sell insurance for.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Susan

  5. thanks for the advice. Seems many people are steering me toward Steve's site. I called Vanguard several days ago, and they seemed a bit abrupt on the phone. I will give Steve a call in the next few days. Appreciate the feedback

Sunbird. I also agree with contacting the staff at Trip Insurance Store. They have a wealth of information on their website that explains what trip insurance IS and ISN'T. You will find a suitable policy from amongst their pre-screened, carefully selected suppliers. Other websites will sell you a cheaper (but less robust) policy, but Steve only sells policies 'that allow him to sleep well at night'.
  6. I am completed baffled on whether or not to get travel/cruise insurance. I have never used insurance before. But my husband had a heart attack last September, so I have to get one that includes "pre-existing conditions". I was told by Travelguard company that I need to get the insurance within 14 days of booking a cruise, which I just booked on 3-16-15, for a trip that leaves on 3-6-15 to the Canary Islands from Barcelona

What is your feelings on this? And can I get insurance without being rushed to get one within the 14 day time span? And who do you recommend?

    Kristi,

No. If you rebook for the same dates or re-use the funds for a similar trip, it counts as the same trip. However, there are some insurance companies that allow you to have a pre-existing waiver as long as you purchase the policy before final payment. I think CSA is one, and the nice folks as tripinsurancestore will know the other one as well as explain the nuances if you wish.
