  1. I used them for the private Jeep tour. The company was slow to respond to my inquiries before our cruise. When I made the reservation online for 2 adults and 1 kid, the receipt that was sent some time later had 3 adults. Several weeks prior to the cruise, our port time changed. I emailed numerous times and even called and left messages. I was starting to have a sinking feeling about the excursion I booked. The day before we left, they finally responded. They said the earlier time would be fine and to let the guide know to adjust for the kid. We got to the meeting spot at the earlier time, but still had to wait for about 40 minutes for our guide to show up. Despite the rocky start and not too good first impressions...it turned out to be one of the best excursions I have taken. The guide was very attentive , engaging, and took every measure possible to see that we had a great time. He even found an ax at one of our stops to help my son open a coconut that he found. I would definitely book with them again, but I won't expect much in pre-cruise communication.

  2. My April Triumph cruise is now a Cozumel Plus cruise. The original port time was 9 to 4 (original invoice), and now it shows 8 to 5 in my cruise manager. Was not quite what I anticipated when I read "extended"...but, hey, I'll take it. :)

  3. I understand that they can not put me in cabin for more then 3 but why is the website say they can.

I booked online, and it let me book a quad even though there is only 3 in my party. When I had called in for a price protection adjustment, the rep advised they would need to move me to a cabin for 3. I asked this same question. She said the website booking engine did not have edits in to prevent it. It would show a pool of available cabins that met or exceeded the occupancy that I needed. I was really ticked at first, but got over it quickly. Realized they actually upgraded me, and I got a better cabin location than I had originally selected.

  4. Ok, I actually read all 13 pages of this thread today. What a fantastic thread. The crew is definitely why I keep coming back. They always do what they can to make sure I'm having a great vacation. They really kicked it up several notches with my son. Last year, I took my then 5 year old son on his first cruise. Andrei, a waiter on the Lido deck stopped and talked to him every time he saw him, remembering his name. The first night when they met, he sat down with him and read a short kids book on the Mississippi River with him (we cruised out of NOLA) that we brought along. Our steward, and the next steward down the hall, would ask him question about his day...what he had planned, and what he enjoyed most so far. One morning when my son was having a meltdown...the steward came to check on him to make sure he was ok. Seeing one of his new friends perked him up...and he ended up having a great morning.

  5. I noticed the same thing the other day when I was booking a 5 night out of FLL, however all my rooms are triple as there are 3 of us. I wasn't quite sure and not ready to pull the trigger, so I just put a hold on it. When I went to my cruise booking, the deposit reflected the typical 150 pp which is what I paid.

  6. We received one on the Dream. I believe it is for the parents of little kids only (up to 5 years old), but I could be wrong. We got it the first night at the welcome event. They said when the battery got low, bring it back and they would put a new battery in it. I don't recall if it was meant for emergencies or when kids wanted to be picked up. They told you when you get get it, but I just can't recall. I do remember I was anticipating a call that my kid was unhappy. When I would check on him to see if he was ready...he'd tell me to come back later.

  7. OP here...the room I had originally booked was 9279. On the deck plans, it indicated 2 twins and 1 upper pullman. The presence of the roll away bed was what made it a 4 person room. I'm actually glad we ended up moving and that Carnival gave me the opportunity to pick rather than just putting me where ever they choose. I'm looking forward to less foot traffic around the cabin.

  8. I booked a May cruise on Triumph out of NOLA recently on an early saver fare. I was able to pick my room and was really looking forward to a lido balcony. The price has been dropping...yay...so I called in for the adjustment. I was a little miffed to learn that the sailing is now under occupancy restrictions and my lido balcony was a 4 person room due to it having a rollaway bed stashed in there. The rep on the phone said she had to change my room assignment to a 3 person room or Carnival would. After debating the finer points of roll away beds....they can roll it to another room and problem solved. She wouldn't bend...so I ended up picking another balcony on the panorama deck 10. I'm satisfied with my location overall, but a tad nervous about it being more forward than my lido room was. My last forward cabin was not a good experience ( fantasy class, rough seas, and morning sickness). What are the good / bad of panorama deck balconies?

  9. It may be too late for this particular sale, but call your PVP at Carnival. I had no idea the sale was going on yesterday, and I called to asked about the possibility of upgrading our interior to a balcony. She said no, we were in penalty, and what a shame, cause they had a great sale on balconies. I was about to ask her another question (on booking excursions, couldn't see my friends booking that was linked to mine) when she told me to hold on. She came back and said for 60.00 pp (total 180), we could upgrade to a balcony.

I know I didn't book an ES fare (not sure which one though)...and this is for a May 3 cruise that was booked in late January. We were originally booking on an interline fare, but the inside guaranty was a much better rate at the time so we went with that.

  10. For those that are recently off the Dream and stayed on the ship during port days...is the pool still open while in port? We are doing the Eastern in May, and I really haven't found an excursion I want take. I'm just looking forward to being on vacation.

    Thanks!
