Radiance balcony categories are 1B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 1D, 2D, 5D, and 6D.  The odd numbers, 1, 3, 5 mean the stateroom can accommodate more than 2 people.  The even numbers mean the stateroom is for two people only.

The lower the number, the more desirable location on the ship.  I'm not positive, but I believe the "D" category staterooms are a bit smaller (179sqft) than the "B" category staterooms (204sqft).

We had booked the SPA balcony category but have been notified that that category has been eliminated although our cabin number will not change.

What law would that violate? I'm not being argumentative, but that response (age discrimination) has been posted on many boards but no one has answered my question.  The only law of which I am aware in the US that prohibits age discrimination due to age is the ADEA which prohibits age discrimination in employment. Are there EU or UK laws that prohibit age discrimination in vacations?  Saga cruises are only for age 50+.

How about collusion! Is it coincidence that all the majors have agreed on the same policy?

  3. After 41 Celebrity cruises, many in AQ, I stand by my answer. In most cases you will NOT be able to order off the MDR menu in Blu, especially on S class ships. They DO have the standard classics like shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, chicken, salmon, etc.. Like everything with Celebrity, there are always exceptions to the rule.

I only have 12 celebrity cruises in Aqua and the latest were 33 nights in February and March 2018 and several times I ordered off the MDR menu, weather it was Turkey & dressing, veal, pork whatever. I was NEVER told you can't do that. So that is my personal experience. I stand by my answer!

  4. I don't suppose it would hurt to contact Captains Club and ask in it is possible to arrange for those NHL events to be available during your cruise. Sometimes they will do what they can to satisfy. What do you have to loose for trying?

  5. But that does not mean you can order off the MDR menu (except for the standard items available every day). Generally you can't, although sometimes on M class they will do it for you. It is very, very rare that you can do that in Blu.

I disagree, On my last two sailings, totaling 23 nights, on Solstice and Eclipse, both this year, I was in Aqua Class and could order off the MDR menu any night. I would always have the escargot, shrimp cocktail and soups from the MDR menu almost every night. Also, if I looked at the following nights menu while in Blu and didn't see anything appealing I would order a fillet, which they were happy to do with 24 hours notice. They will bend over backwards to try to please you. Don't be afraid to ask. On the last night of the cruise, Lobster night, I ordered three tails and the waiter never even blinked. I love Celebrity!
