Is the gym hot tub always open?
The best hot tub on the Sensation was the one located in the gym/spa area. No one was ever in there and it was extremly warm.. and the room is airconditioned....bes tthing is--no kids under 16 allowed in the gymo no kids in or around the hot tub. -
They would only know if the information was given to them in regards to booking space/areas for events, etc.:D
I'm sure that cruise directors always know about groups and special arrangements
-
When should Celebrity or any cruise company disclose large groups who have made arrangements with a Travel Agency for a specific cruise?
Should it be when the group is 20% of the cruise, 30% of the passengers, etc.
Should they only disclose certain groups or all large groups?
Personally I would want to know if a third of the ship is filled with accountants, doll collectors, swingers, Packers fans, or ministers.
Any thoughts ?
My wife and I both agree that we should be informed if a group has booked 30% or more. It would affect our decision to book that cruise depending on what kind of group was booked.

Can anyone tell me what TV stations we will get? Also, I was curious about the laundry room hours as well.
You will get the Denver stations, believe it or not. There are a few others thrown in but that's about it.

I didn't have the time to post this sooner but we were in the extended balcony #8237 on Panorama and had the best cruise ever.

If we board early with kids are the pools open?

My wife and I went on this same thing and it is a submarine. I would not do this again. It was hot, cramped, and the windows were dirty. Not worth the money to me at all.
I'm sad to hear you had a bad experience. I am Claustrophobic and I didn't feel cramped at all. The air conditioning was nice and I agree that some windows were scratched or dirty. The ones we had were clear enough to get some photos.
-
Thank you so much. That was great!
Was that a submarine or a glass boat?
elizabeth
That is an actual submarine that took us down to about 105 feet along the reef. You can't feel any pressure squeeze like on an airplane. Chad is 80 and he had no problem getting in and out. Each of us had a large porthole to look out.

I thought I would repost our slideshow. We were in room 1042, category 8E, forward and it was wonderful!

Anyone been on the panorama deck? What were your thoughts about it? Considering a move down to the verandah deck because im reading you can really feel the movement up on deck 10....
any and all thoughts/comments appreciated!!!!!!!!!
As many others have said, this deck is great. We had a forward cabin and a great view of the bridge. We didn't notice the motion but my wife wore a scopolamine patch. They are the size of the small, round bandaids and you put them right behind your ear. One patch every three days and they stayed on even when she was in the water. A four patch supply cost us just $7 through our medical insurance and our regular MD prescribed them for her.

Well, I don't know what else to advise; are you using MS Internet Explorer, or Firefox, or Safari?
This is the exact text from my signature for the Legend cruise I'm taking on April 25, 2010. If you click on the icon in the upper right of the signature box it switches back and for between the raw HTML and the actual picture of the cruise ship and the countdown clock. The icon has a little A and a Bigger Blue A in the square and hovering over it will say "Switch Editor Mode".
Here is the actual text and you just edit the date in the test where see the month, day and year. See if this will work for you.

Carnival Conquest 2-17-2008
Carnival Ecstasy March 2001

Yes, please. I know nothing about radios and need help!
I forgot to mention that they claim 12 mile range

Yes, please. I know nothing about radios and need help!
We used the Cobra model PR260 and it has a Call button on it that will cause the other to beep.
-
Has anyone ever used walkie talkies on the Conquest? Will the signal carry thru the metal of the ship.
I saw they for sale on the Ecstasy and wonder how they'd work.
When my wife and I cruised on the Conquest my mother was on an RCC ship behind us on the same itinerary. Not only did the walkie talkies work on board the Conquest but we could talk to my mother on her ship when we were docked. We used the Cobra models where you could switch to a private channel. They are very popular on board and if you find someone on your channel you could make a modification so that you were on a clear channel. They also have a cool page function.
How can I book a day at the Sunscape or Sandals in Montego Bay without booking through Carnival?
Several passengers were told by Sandals in MO (via phone or email) that there was no need to pre-book a "Day Pass" and to just show up. They failed to tell us that if they filled up their resort that they would turn us away. Eight of us showed up there around the same time and had it not been for someone having an email from Sandals we would not have been allowed in. It took us about an hour to convince them that they would receive tons of negative publicity if they turned us away. They reluctantly let us in by telling us that we would not have beach chairs because there were not enough. Once inside we had a great time. We went out on their snorkel boat and enjoyed the all-inclusive meals and drinks as usual. I think it was $90 a person for the day pass. I recommend trying to find others that are going and share a cab. It was $30 each way. -
I was reading the Thread "ROOKIE MISTAKES" and wondered if I had been making this one???
They said SUSHI was free? I see the sushi bar in the promenade area, is it free? I guess since it is all alone, I figured you had to pay like you do at the coffee bar?
yes, SUSHI is free but they only had four pieces available at any given time. It was a good snack and sometimes the line was long

We (Me, Wife, Son 14 and daughter 11) upgraded from an Ocean View Room to a Balcony Room Room 8248. Was this a good decision? I've read here and been told that a balcony is the way to go.
My wife and I had a balcony and will always book one now. One of the coolest days of our cruise into Jamaica there were dolphins along side the ship. We would also sit and watch the flying fish jumping out of our wake (we were towards the front of the ship) in 1042.

did you get the reply on the roll call thread?
Thanks a bunch for the clock info.

We booked on the panorama 1025. But now I've been reading the higher you go the more motion you feel. Is this accurate? Has anyone stayed on the panorama deck? Did you like it? Thanks in advance for any answers.
We had room 1042 and loved it. We were toward the front of the ship and had an excellent view. We noticed the motion no matter where we were at in the ship. Sometimes we rocked worse that others but we still enjoyed the room.
-
Has anyone tried the sushi that they say they have on the Conquest? I was wondering when it is available, where it is, and what they offer? Do you have to stand in line, or is it pre-made? Thanks!
They only offered four different pieces and it wasn't the best we've had. We used it as a snack because the selection wasn't large enough.
-
Ok, I have to ask... I've heard a lot about these temp. tattoos. Is there a selection to choose from???
there is a very large selection to choose from. I got the Scorpion on my arm and it lasted about five days.

Funny' date=' I was just reading about that at work today in a travel magazine. Apparently that is a problem on all ships and lines, and the article said that if it bothers you, it's acceptable to ask them to finish the massage that you paid for, then they can start the sales pitch.
I don't really know if I'll go in for any of that stuff or not. Sitting in a salon doesn't make me feel pampered so much as like it's taking up time. I haven't had many massages, though. I don't particularly like strangers touching me. Of course, my husband hates to give me a neck rub when I'm stiff, so I might pay for something like that as long as I wouldn't have to take my clothes off.[/quote']
Maybe they are selling only to woman because I received a 2-hour swedish massage and she never mentioned a single product to me...and I felt WONDERFUL after the massage. I just did this in Feb on Conquest

If you don't mind Iam looking for in formation from a page on this thread - not sure maybe 466-468 . Fierefly had a post with a link telling a few of us to check a photo from post #8. I was wondering if that photo was from the Conquest ship.

Thank You,
Julie
