There is usually a rather large difference in temperature between  North FL and South FL. As of 9 this morning there is a 23 degree difference between Jacksonville and Key West. 

When I read he threadi thought that my be a cool idea that my wife would love. Then I saw the prices. Yikes.

Our first balcony cabin ever was an upgrade to a Lido balcony. We spend all sea days hanging out by the pool so it was perfect for us. I’m pretty sure I’ll never not have a balcony cabin.

Personally I have no opinion on tablecloths but if a person eats a chicken leg with a knife and a fork I’m assuming they’re a pretty cultured person and expect the finer things in life.

You’ll be fine. Passports aren’t required. Last year we were headed to the port of Miami and I realized I didn’t have my birth certificate and there was no turning back to get. When we got there they took me to a room that had quite a few people in the same situation. I had my mother who was staying at my house text me a picture of it which I then emailed to an email a carnival agent gave me. She printed it off and gave it to me which I then used to check in for our cruise. Cost us about an hour of time.

We are a family of five traveling on the Victory on the 24th of this month. My wife got a call about upgrading our cabin which was a cabin with bunk beds on the Lido deck. We were offered a balcony cabin on the same deck for $200. Sounds normal but we are also keeping our old cabin. We’re getting another cabin for only $200. Sounds crazy but we are so stoked.

My family booked a cruise leaving Christmas Eve . We spend most Christmas' with my wife's family and it's just stresses my wife out and she just wanted to do something else. We thought about flying up to my mothers but we really didn't want to go somewhere cold (we live in FL). Well it turns out my mother in law is planning a Christmas get together before we leave. Now we have to get out of that one.

Thanks for the review. My wife and I and some other couples are booked on the Feb 13th cruise. We had originally booked the Carnival Fantasy but that cruise was cancelled. While I was excited to be going on a cruise, I wasn't happy about going on that ship. The Independence was brought up as a new option and when I checked it out I was so excited. Is it as awesome as it looks? I can't imagine ever sailing on a lesser ship. Can't wait to go.

I hear what you are saying, and maybe its just me, but MDR portions aren't usually huge. I feel like they are reasonable or even on the small side.

 

I totally agree. The OP keeps referring to the portions as huge but in my opinion I would say they are more the size of most kids meals.

I really would have preferred some Caribbean music on our last cruise on the Victory. In my opinion even if you don't want to hire a band at least play the music.

I sure hope the Victory doesn't leave Miami. My wife and I just sailed on her the end of Jan. and had the best time. We really liked the ship but our only other cruises were on the Inspiration and the Paradise. I was really looking forward to cruising on it again.

Just purchased 100 shares of CCL stock.

I know a guy who's a jewelry wholesaler and he said never buy anything in the islands. I had previously bought a couple things but never again.

Basically you just want to call and ask for some money back?

OK..........I'm confused now. The OP said that they were on the Liberty now and would be there until January. Where are they really? I'm on the Liberty in July and would love to see them. My last couple of cruises on the Fantasy were not quite up to par due to their ditching of the Pilipino house band. A good rock house band is a major plus for my cruising experience.

 

The first post in this thread is several years old. I saw these guys in Dec '13 on the Paradise. I thought the were great but my only compliant is when you're playing during a deck party and everyone's dancing and having fun, don't start playing Pink Floyd. Particularly that really long song.

I just give the big ones out as tips and ask them for some change back.

It's the same principle.

Gift card sales are not considered interest free loans but are in fact considered a liability.

Are you asking about sleeping out there overnight? I have always wondered if any one has as well.

On my three Carnival cruises I've never noticed anyone to intoxicated although I tend to suffer from alcohol induced double vision while on board. Perhaps I'm not the best qualified to give an opinion.

Also there's the roof top bar on the hotel on Duvall Street. It closes at dark.

My wife and I recently drove down to Key West. We went out walking and came across the Cemetary. We didn't go in but it was a pretty interesting sight to see.
