It is amazing that the same cruise can have vastly different levels of enjoyment

I always book lighthouse parking. They carry you and your luggage to and from the terminal. Used the many times and they do fill up. Covered parking

I have done both and each has a differant style of what a good cruise should be. It is nearly a toss up with me but right now I agree Magic has the edge out of Galveston. That being said I leave on navigator Sunday

We had. Very similar experience with the dining first in last out not sure our waiters were at fault but poor dinning room management. No bar service at dining etc . 7 cruises on RCCL and Navigator was the worst
Will
Sail again but hope they get their act together

We stay at LaQuinta on the sea wall. If you are I early the air museum is great and also some of the house tour are great. The aquarium is one of the best at moody gardens

Just for fun I pointed to the grill marks on my steak and told our beautiful waiter " look you can see where the jockey whooped this poor animal ". She was great and happy friend that cruse!

I was disappointed in the service, It was NOT the waiters fault. It seems they have expanded the cabins and have not got their act together yet to accommodate the extra passengers. That being said you make the best of it and have a good time! We always use Light House parking and get great service from them, luggage and passengers picked up and delivered to your car. Really it is the luck of the draw sometimes and after 7 cruises on RCCL this one was the one with just "average" service when I have been accustomed to better. I hope that they improve as we have already booked another cruise with RCCL..

While in on a Caribbean cruise my wife purchased some nice items from a place like "Diamond Or Such" I really can not remember the shop. The credit card company denied the charge until they talked to me. On the line the young lady ask me my security question. I thought just a moment and said to her, That would give you the keys to my kingdom would it not?" She laughed and agreed with me. I ask her if she knew the word and she replied in the affirmative. I said OK that I would start spelling the word and she would have to say every other letter...It is a long name she agreed to that idea. The wife got her bling and I was satisfied I gave the word to a proper person with the credit company

You can do the track or extend to the rear of the Ship around the climbing wall if you run early

If you do take an excursion that requires a good deal walking or going up or down stairs ,don't be afraid to speak up and ask for assistance or use of an elevator to help her get to where she is going safe and in good shape. My Mom had to turn around and get back to her cabin after becoming "winded" getting off the ship at a tendered port by having to walk down several flights of stairs..When brought to the attention of the staff they always there after announced the availability of an elevator for those who needed one.

I really suggest a day early arrival in Galveston. Visit the Air Museum and the Bishops Palace etc! I always use Lighthouse parking as tey pick you and your luggage up. There is so much going on on the ships that where I lay my head when I go to sleep is way down on mylist of what is important!.. The staff have always been beyond expectation ..but that goes for most curises I have been on...Notree

I have been running for a very long time. several full marathons a long time ago and 12 1/2 marathons. As stated above I had to slow down as age does become a factor and knowing your limitations is always prudent. But this was a shocker!! first time I have been told NO in a long time!

I was signing up my family for a beach/snorkel excursion and I was denied early booking because of my age? This would not really bother me but just having finished a half marathon ..my feeling are hurt! I really believe I can snorkel a bit! Is this the providers policy or Royal Caribbean's? Is the ship board policy the same as on line?

We are a bunch of classmates who cruise together. SHS 1965. We have done RCCL,NCL, Holland America and Carnival. We prefer RCCL. I have six Cruises on RCCL out of Galveston. Every time it has been on a sold out cruise. Rhapsody and now Voyager both have a audience and a following so it is not for lack of customers. As for cutbacks I do understand but when they impact the way I am treated or diminish the bang for the buck I have to shop around. We are going to Alaska and will probably do Holland America. I was looking at RCCL to add a trip to my Platinum status heading for Diamond but the incentive to achieve Diamond is negated. Any way will take my yearly Voyager trip when it is available. I am still upset that Rhapsody is gone and may never get over that!!!
