  1. Yes it has been played mostly by retirees for many years but with the sports rapid growth over the last few years, it has become a game for all ages and skill level.

From what I have read the Regal is the only Princess ship with a pickleball court. I will be bringing 4 paddles and some balls on the cruise with me.

With more than 3000 pax on board hopefully I can find a few to play with.

And I would be happy to introduce the game to anyone who would like to learn.

Here is a clip of highlights of the first annual U.S. OPEN in Florida earlier this year.

  2. First time on the Regal Dec.4 for 14. Wondering if the pickleball court gets used much? Or is the court area too busy with other activities going on through the day?

Would like to meet up with some competitive players(perhaps for some early morning play). Any suggestions to find other players?

  3. I will be taking my 14 and 15 year old boys on the Ruby for 9 days starting March 29th as well. This will be their 5th Princess cruise and they love it. There is plenty to do if "they choose" to enjoy it. The teen club is open as long as the ship is not in port. The teen club staff lead organized activities and everyone is welcome to come and go. Teens can join in on the organised stuff, just hang out, or use whatever is available to them in there.

There is also the basketball court, mini-golf, and of course the pools.

More than enough to stay entertained....but you will still hear some kids say they are bored.

  4. We were on the Golden to Mexico in January/08. Sometime in the moring I had to run back to the cabin to grab something and the door was propped open. I go inside and see our cabin steward cleaning the shower. He had his ipod on and working away so I proceeded to the dresser to get what I needed. All of a sudden he goes out to his cart to grab something. So I quickly pull the wedge out of the door and let it close quietly. I watch him through the peep hole and see that he is grabbing his card to open the door so I back up and just stand there. As the door opens this little Philipino guy screams at the top of his lungs! He says..."Oh Sir you scared me!" I could not stop laughing all day.
