  1. It is less hassle if you want to leave the ship enfemme that you be enfemme when your photo is taken when you first come on the ship.

Thank you for this information and the introduction to and the proper use of, "enfemme"

  2. ... I am a crossdresser who has dressed on 32 cruises over the last 18 years.

For the benefit of Sam75 and many of us who would appreciate a better understanding of the subject, how does one handle the personal photographing at embarkation and then departing and re entering the ship as the alternate gender? Or does one not leave the ship as such?

  3. The gender dress that you choose for registration and embarkation will be of utmost importance as you will be photographed and as you board and exit the ship, it is this photo plus one on your person that will be used to identify you. So this may present a problem. For this reason and knowing some of the feelings of the natives on the islands, we would not recommend you going ashore as such. We see no problems in you cross-dressing aboard the ship. We have stayed in major hotels in Bangkok on more than one occasion where cross-dressing is most common and accepted.

  4. There was a formal night designated upon departing from the port of Fiji on our Pacific cruise. My partner, having purchased a Sulu ashore, dressed in formal attire save for the waste down, he wearing his Sulu and sandals. This formal attire is most acceptable on the island and bringing the theme aboard was well received by associates as well as the captain himself. You need not be of the nationality to partake of their cultural dress.

Thanks so much for your input on this matter. As suggested and being new to the site we have a lot of reading to do. And yes, the best way to alleviate any fears the gals may have about cruising is to introduce them to this site also. Especially if reading your response to our question. Thanks again.

  6. We are a gay male couple who have two wonderful gay gals as friends and neighbours. We ourselves cruise considerably but when we try to get our female friends to join us on a cruise they decline. From their questions we think one of their concerns may be dress code. Perhaps they would not like to be put into a position of having to dress up for formal nights. Apart from passing up formal nights, we would like to give them some idea as to how other gay women cruisers handle the situation or what you might wear for the occasion. But quite frankly we really do not know. Anyone like to comment on this?
