These are two of the oddest things I saw while on board. What are they growing in the closet! Herbs! Can't we just get that in Jamaica? And then, to the right in the picture above, down on Deck 7 - the muster deck - back by the aft engines there was their box of firewood kindle... that sat there day in and day out. Holy fire hazard, Batman. What was going on with that?

    Enjoy!

That box is for people with service animals. I have seen it when a blind person was on with a service dog, they need to go too.

  2. We did red stripe in Jan 2014 and it has moved down the beach a little closer than when we first did the trip before. In looking at these pictures looks like the the last one I was at in Jan 2014. It is the closet beach you can get to via RC excursion, there is no way to get here unless through the ship. But it is a basic beach day stop with some amenities like food, drinks, chairs and bathrooms. We enjoy it rent a couple chairs set up near trees for shade and a relaxing beach day. The shuttle comes and goes multiple times and you can get on any one headed back to the pier if you want to do shopping or just done for the day. But for the price we find this the best stop in Falmouth.

  3. I have sailed out of baltimore many of times and I will give you my experience. The ship is small compared to others but they still have plenty to do for all ages. That being said I normally cruise with my parents and I am in my 30's and find that I am sometimes the youngest on the ship. Yes there are kids but leaving this port the longer the cruise the older the crowd gets. Now being over thanksgiving or during school breaks that changes a little, but I dont know how many families take cruises for thanksgiving. That is the only reason I could see there would be more kids onboard. So I see your issues but I will say that the adventure ocean will still be up and running just maybe not as many participants as other ships, just my experience out of Baltimore numerous time but all off school break times.

  4. I have done this with my mother and it was very enjoyable. You go out far enough where the horse actually swims and cant touch the bottom. When we did it you almost pull a superman and lay horizontal and hold the mane and are pulled along. I would do this again for sure it was fun, different and a good time.

Now as for the company we did was Pampered Ponies, http://www.ponies.ky/

  5. Hubby and I love to watch boxing and this fight is scheduled May 2 and we'll be onboard Freedom. Anyone know if they show pay for view fights onboard?

I am on the same cruise and was wondering the same thing. Would love to see the fight but i am not holding my breath. But maybe we can get eough people together and they can pull some strings no idea, but we will see in a couple weeks.

  6. I was on this same trip as you. You have taken no time to get the pictures and videos turned around.

Your thoughts on Labadee or very interesting when it came to the dining issues for lunch. We knew that Explorer was going to be in so we decided to get a cabana on Barefoot Beach to alleviate having to search for loungers and shade after explorer was already there. Now this is not to sound elitist but we had none of the dining issues there, but it was because of the separate dining area in that section. So in the future if you are in a suite or can gain access to this area do so if there are multiple ships in Labadee.

I have the full video for Love and Marriage up on my youtube channel. My grandparents were the oldest couple in the theater that night and went up on stage.

  7. I am too surprised there isn't more on this here on this site. I am going on a cruise Jan 10 stopping in faulmouth with this excursion booked. Will report back with the details.

On the last cruise I was on, I stopped by the excursion desk and they recommended this one as similar to Chukka. Apparently it is on the same beach just a little ways down according to the explorations desk. She had mentioned that the Chukka stop was getting some reviews about locals bothering them so they canceled. So how moving down the beach is going to change that I have no idea, but we will see. We really liked the Chukka beach break last time and were disappointed.

  8. We are also looking at the red stripe beach excursion thru the cruise line. Would love to hear suggestions or comments on that one as well.

taking a cruise on Jan 10 stopping in Faulmouth and doing this beach break. Will report back on our experiences. The excursion desk on my last cruise advised this was similar to the old Chukka Beach Break which they no longer offer, apparently this is just down the beach.

  9. The last time we were there we did a ship excursion as the port was so new and nothing was really know around the port on cruise critic. So we did the Chukka beach break, which was nice and a little ride down the cost to a nice beach. Now this isn't offered anymore or I would highly recommend it. So taking a cruise Jan 10 with a stop in Faulmouth and doing the Red Stripe Beach excursion through the ship again. Will report back as to how it is and if similar. The last cruise we were on I had asked about this an apparently it is just down the beach from the Chukka Beach Break.

  10. Does the Grandeur have a splash deck for kids since the recent remodel?

No splash pool but one half of the main pool is kid friendly ish. There is a railing that goes across the middle and one half is like 4-5ft deep and the other side is like 1 ft. So it is like a kid pool on one side.

  11. Just looked up your website and Spirit of the West in Grand Cayman does something very similar to what we did. In fact I saw them go by with a small group (recognized the group leader in the photo). All the guides were friends and talking as they went by, so don't think you can go wrong with either one.

  12. I have not used the company you mentioned but we went with this company in Grand Cayman.

Pampered ponies picked us up in downtown right next to the pier and we very prompt and professional. What I enjoyed the most was normally when you are in the Caribbean all the horses tend to be on the smaller side. But every horse they had here were what you normally see here in the US and some nice well taken care of horses. Lastly to make the reservation you will need to call or email, we took care of email.

Lastly we did the swim with the horses trip and a good video can be seen here,

. THis is a about 3-3.5hrs, you walk out on the beach, do some cantering then de-saddle the horses then go for a ride/swim with the horses, come back saddle up and walk back. Was just a great trip and would recommend this unique experience as you get the beach and something totally different in the swim.
