  1. We are cruising on Liberty of the seas 5/22/16. Western(roatan, Costa maya, Cozumel) I am looking for the menus for each night. We want to dine in the specialty restaurants. I don't want miss a formal night or a good meal in the dining room. We would like to have 2 meals in the specialty dining. It doesn't matter to me which nights, I'm just trying to plan ahead.

  2. We did money bar then paradise beach in February. We had our snorkel gear. We took a taxi to money bar. Got a table and felt no pressure to order right away. We snorkeled for awhile, then ordered sodas and beer. Ordered some nachos, and some other food. Spent 2-3 hours. Did feel pressured to spend , we weren't that hungry and it was early. Spent $40 family of 4. Took a taxi to paradise beach, spent another 2-3 hours...it was a perfect day. At paradise beach we didn't order food, just a few drinks.

  3. Just a caution: Sometimes arrival times can change - traffic at locks can back up and take longer than predicted or something else goes wrong. So cutting closely the time after the published arrival time at a town to catch a train may be risky - ok if you are willing to wing it at the last minute. I have been on river cruises where the lock process took 2 - 3 hours longer than scheduled; then on other cruises the timing was exact.

I think because of the locks, main, danube they are not giving me a exact time. I'm hoping to go to Rothenburg in the afternoon. Since we stay overnight it would not matter what time I get back. We may do the night watchman tour at 8pm. I'm hoping the concierge on the boat will help me.

  4. My daughter and I are on the Viking Idun (Nov. 23)Budapest to Nuremberg with the 3 night Prague extension. I am trying to figure out a way to see Rothenburg. I know we arrive in Nuremburg on day 7 and stay overnight, but I'm not sure what time we arrive on day 7. Has anyone been on this cruise? I know we go thru locks that morning. I'm hoping to be able to take the train to Rothenburg for the afternoon. I put in a call to my travel agent and she thinks we won't have time:confused: I'm hoping to make this work... I really want to see this town!! Any advise will be appreciated:p

  5. I'd did buy the athleta Benetton jeggings, they will work great, pretty thick and nice and stretchy . They frontier jeans didn't fit right with my weight gain:eek:

Now, I am looking for waterproof jacket for cold weather. Stylish, fitted maybe or with belt. For about 32degrees?? Any suggestions?? I like the style of the northface Greenlander , maybe academy will have something comparable?

  6. Angelle- Regardless of which shoes you go with, make sure that you break them in before the trip. I know cold weather gear isn't comfortable in LA, but ya gotta get the bugs out...sometimes a 'aftermarket' insoles can make a big improvement over what comes in the shoe. Or they just really aren't that comfortable after an hour of walking. Better to know that now.

Waterproof shoes can make your feet sweat, even if they say they're breathable. Or the seams can leak. Bring extra socks in your day pack, or if you head back to the ship for lunch, change socks. Change to the backup shoes if you're getting 'hot spots'. Have moleskin for when the 'hot spot' becomes a blister.

Don't let bad feet ruin a trip! I have 3 daughters and am a former soldier.

When it comes to shoes, function triumphs over style. Plus, the Europeans girls will have way cooler clothes anyway...just because that's how girls think.

Thanks for this great advise!! We are breaking them in now. I agree about function over style, I will be rotating my shoes.

  7. Great info on the Christmas markets.

We are leaving Budapest on November 23, the markets will be opening during the week. So we should be able to see vienna, nuremburg, prague. That is why I added the 3 nights at the end of the trip. This is not considered a Christmas market cruise, but my daughter is out of school for thanksgiving. I like to spend Christmas at home with the family, so this is perfect for us. I am 45 and my daughter is 16. My hubby and son are not interested in this trip.

  8. Thank you so very much for a reply. Are you cruising from Budapest and if so, are you adding days onto the start of your trip?

I am leaving from Budapest and we are adding the 3 night prague extension post cruise. The reason I chose this is for the Christmas markets in Germany to be opening. Also my daughter is in school, she will miss about 4 days.

  9. These are the shoes I ordered from amazon to try: Keen Chester Boot, Merrell Azura hiking shoe, Teva Figueroa W/P Boot, Merrell Captiva Launch W/P Boot, Clark's Wave Trail GTX sneaker, Baretraps Launch Boot

I will try these out, thank for y'all help:)

Some of the shoes came in, most of them fit well and would work for the cruise. They were all a bargain @$60 each. I'm keeping the keen Chester boot, it's short , slightly warm and cute. I'm keeping the merrell Captiva launch boot, it is so comfortably, very cute!!! I'm exchanging the merell Azura hiking boot for a smaller size, this is waterproof snow hiking tennis shoe.....not fashionable but I may want it for cobblestones and climbing. The teva Figueroa boot fit great but it is fleeced lined...I think it may be too warm, so I'm returning it. The other 2 pairs are not in yet.

  10. These are the shoes I ordered from amazon to try: Keen Chester Boot, Merrell Azura hiking shoe, Teva Figueroa W/P Boot, Merrell Captiva Launch W/P Boot, Clark's Wave Trail GTX sneaker, Baretraps Launch Boot

Some of my shoes came in today, I had fun trying them on. Most of them would work. Keep in mind these were all @ $60 or less, real bargains. I am keeping the keen Chester boot...it is light weight, comfortable short and warm. I am keeping the merrell launch boot, it's so comfortable, not lined...I love it!!! I'm returning the teva Figueroa boot...it is very comfortable, but it is fully fleeced lined....I think it may be too warm. I will exchange the merrell Azura hiking shoe...it was a little big.

  11. Have fun Janet!!

This is the capsule wardrobe as I'm thinking right now. No photo of the leopard cuddl duds - I'll have to take one of my own shirt or keep looking online:p I want a couple other layers but might wait to decide depending on weather forecasts. Not confirmed the cardigans I'll take either. I'm sure over the next 6 months I will make some changes:D

    Love it, looks greAt!!!
