  1. Is there public transportation to Muir Woods from San Francisco port area?

Been searching internet but not finding anything. I checked out the HOHO bus but Muir Woods is not a stop. Lots of tours going to Muir Woods but I want more time there. Most of the excursions spend about 1 1/2 hrs there because its combined with other destination.

    Any information is appreciated.

  2. Hi, We are boarding on the 12th of December. Does the Equinox have the Promenade Walking Deck? If so, does it go around the entire perimeter of the ship? Also interested in the depth of the swimming pools. Thank you in advance for any info that you can pass on.

  3. No. It goes round the aft, but just as far as the foreword stairs.

You have two options. Some people would walk to where it ends and then turn back. I went for cutting across the ship past the stairs to complete the loop.

Wow that disappointing. I guess it's not a money making venue so newer ships are doing away with the Promenade walking deck. Thank you all for responding.

Anyone know anything about the pool depth?

  4. We were on the Royal Princess in December. They provided shampoo and body lotion as always but I heard that might change. Recent Cruisers….are they still giving bathroom amenities? I have a trip planned on the Coral and the Island this month. I will start packing soon and am trying to cut down anyway I can.

    Thanks

  5. My daughter is a strict vegan. We were given a number to call and told to do so a month ahead of the cruise. We did, and the person my daughter spoke to went over what she could eat. They met the day we boarded as well. My daughter had cheese-less pizzas, pasta dishes, fancy veg dishes, some tofu, etc. She was thrilled. All she had to do was phone in the early afternoon and tell them where we would be dining.

That's great news. We are booked on a family get together on The Breakaway in September. We are 9 adults of which we have 1 vegetarian & 1 vegan. It would be so helpful if you could pass on the phone #.

  6. I also extend my sympathy to the OP for her loss. Truly. And thank you for your review!

As far as vegetarian options go, I sailed on the Breakaway last July with a vegan, a vegetarian, and someone allergic to shellfish. The pre-concierge stated that nothing could be arranged for the vegan/vegetarian but I attended the CC Meet and Greet and arranged everything with the "Food Officers" on the ship. My vegan daughter had specialized meals (with menu delivered to room every morning) and the others had special meals in Cirque as well as other venues.

Please reach out to the staff who can make things happen (seemingly magically) on the ship if you have worries about dietary issues.

    TYMIKE,

Thank you so much for the response. WOW very impressed that the menu was delivered daily for your daughter. I will look into speaking with the Food Officers.

  7. Thank you LizG12 for your honest review. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have a few questions for anyone that has cruised on the Breakaway. Thank you in advance for any info about your cruise experience.

We are cruising in September on the Breakaway with our 5 adult children and 2 sons in law making us 9 total. Because we are an uneven number, one of the group has a single cabin so I was very interested in what Liz wrote.

There is one vegetarian among us. Well actually I am a vegetarian too but I eat fish so I never have a problem finding something that I want. My son does not eat meat or fish. On other ships (when you have a scheduled dinner time) prior to the cruise, you notify the ship and they are able to accommodate. With freestyle dining, I don't think that will work. Any thoughts?

Are the shows free or are they charging for that too. I have cruised NCL 3 times and did feel that they nickel & dimed you. They kept spouting about the importance of recycling but every night on your bed there was 5 plus adverts for their Spa. I did however enjoy our cruise very much.

One of the things I liked on Norwegian was the walking deck that went entirely around the ship. The walking base was very nice to walk on (not slippery) sort of like a cork material. Can you walk entirely around the Breakaway. I saw that they have restaurants on that deck?

Thank you all. All information would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Thanks. Disappointing. I love the walking deck on the older ships. It appears this is the new trend to utilize this space into something that will make more money. I have a trip planned on the new Royal Princess and it appears that they have cut up their walking deck too but I will see for myself soon. We are going on the GEM in February and their deck is really perfect and the pools are deep.
