  1. Saint Greg,

Would you be willing to help me find the most economical/convenient way to spend a couple nights in NO before our 3/29 NCL cruise. We have never been to NO so don't know the area. I saw your post about hotwire and it looks like French/Miss 4* is $159/night for those dates, making it $410.40 for the two nights We will be driving so will need to park for hotel and cruise. Is Fulton garage walking distance to park there for one night hotel parking and the other cruise parking?

Please help! So overwhelmed and we have a courtesy hold on cruise that ends tonight so we need to decide what we are doing before we book cruise.

    Thank you, Debbie

  2. Your dates are available on hotwire now. Some good options out there starting at $100. But the best deal by far is Hilton Riverside at $70 for your nights.

Looks like it's $101/night b4 taxes today. Is the $101 rate the Hilton Riverside? What are the chances if I booked this for my nights I'd get a different hotel? Do they still charge the $44 for self park and $49 for valet on top of this?

Just trying to decide whether to book this and park at the port or book the Hampton.

  3. Last Aug they offered free DSC. It's a rarely offered perk so I had my eye on it as well as the price of a cruise I was interested in. I was finally able to book a suite today at a price that I found reasonable. Price hadn't gone up with new perk. Took advantage of KSF as well. I know there's a lot of talk about the water/soda, increases in fees.. on NCL but the last couple cruises I've booked were actually really great deals and had more perks than previous years. I'm very happy with NCL right now. Granted most suites are now out of the range we are willing to pay and I would not chance trying for an upsell, but I was able to find one that suited our dates and desired destination at a price I found reasonable.

    What is DSC and KSF?

Fairly new to NCL (just one on the Getaway)

    Thank you :)

  4. The trip/cabin I'm looking at had no price change. We probably would only have used one $50 excursion credit, so the DSC being included benefits us by almost $170. I'm glad the new deal runs through 9/18 -- no need to make a decision about this until we return from our trip that starts in 19 days!

How did you find out that it goes until 9/18? I never know how long promos are good for.

    Thank you :)

  5. Last year on the Magic we had about $1400 in OBC due to price drops. The guy at the desk said it was non-refundable. I went to their little kiosk machine and withdrew cash against my OBC. Not knowing if it would really work, I started with $200 then checked my account the next day. No problems as I had the cash and my OBC decreased by $200. Two more $600 withdrawals and my OBC was down to zero...and I had a pile of cash in the safe. Of course we then charged a few items and gratuities against our account, but I would have rather had a small bill at the end then risk losing OBC.

There is an option to cash out OBC on the kiosk? Is there a charge for this?

  6. your cruise documents will tell you the type(s) of OBC you have, refundable or non-refundable.

I can't see where it differentiates between refundable and non-refundable obc on my cruise docs. Says: Onboard Credit: $xxx.xx

$100 is from stockholders credit and the rest if from price drops after final payment (booked ES)

Am I assuming correctly that the $100 from stock is non refundable but the rest from price drops is refundable? And I can get that amount of of the kiosk some how?

  7. Did anyone else receive a letter from Carnival Funpoints about a promotional 0% APR for 6 months when you book your cruise between 01.01.2016 and 02.15.2016 and did anyone receive it before TODAY? Hubby just walked in bringing this letter...today is 02.17.2017 and the letter has just arrived...two days AFTER the expiration! It may have only been valid for the initial booking and not for the payoff but I guess I'll never know. :( Bummer!

Yes, we received that letter today too. Same dates, etc. and we just made final payment on Sunday.
