  1. I’ll be getting on when you get off ... hope you have a great cruise. Quick question, have you booked your flight from ushuaia yet ... who have you booked with? Seems that AA and Latam have very mixed reviews.

  2. Thank you for posting the photos, very helpful as I have booked this cabin for March next year. It is the only solo balcony cabin and I snapped it up, for a good price too. :D

You’re welcome. Hope you enjoy your cruise. I too got a great price ... it’s gonna be tough going back to an inside cabin with other cruiselines

  3. i've just booked Deck 8 balcony and cannot find any photos of them. I believe noise could be a problem from kids during day due to nearby kids club and midnight - 2am the disco. I dont mind if that is the case as this was a very very cheap upgrade from single outside and probably the only time that I could afford a balcony! I am first time cruiser with Thomson. Any info would be appreciated.

  4. Great suggestion.

Does it means that instead of dropping the luggage at the Aiport Express, you take your luggage and go directly to the airport and from then, go to Lantau island?

Do you remember which bus number?

How long is the bus trip?

If you are leaving the ship and going directly to the airport then yes you can go directly to the airport with your luggage and leave it at left luggage. Bus S1, airport to Tung Chung MTR, from recollection I think it was about 10 - 15 mins. I'm on my iPad so can't copy & paste links for you, but if go on YouTube then you'll be able to find some really informative videos

  5. Last year i dropped off all my luggage at the airport, left luggage wasnt expensive and easy to find. Then took the bus to the 360 cable car to lantau island, bus cost just pennies. Google 360 cable car lantau island, big budda is fab. Evening sunset trips also available. If you are fit, then there is a path so you can walk to the budha instead of the cable car. There are shops, restaurants too. My cable car video is on youtube, look me up carah70 and click on playlist ... Timelapse

  6. Hi everyone. I've read that 'some cruise lines' provide onboard check-in facilities the night before arriving in Seattle, for those passengers that have flights leaving on the same day of arrival.

Does anyone know if Ruby Princess does this? I'm onboard just for an overnight cruise from Vancouver to Seattle.

I have contacted princess but there answer was vague.

Apparently ships can provide this service because the port and airport are run by the same company. I think the service costs $20 ??

  7. I had afternoon tea at Raffles, booked it through Viator. It included a boat ride and they took us to the Sir Stamford Raffles landing site to see his statue. Tea was great and there was also an addition free buffet with more cakes & scones to choose from and also a hot Asian buffet. Worth doing especially if you cannot get a table direct through Raffles as they do sell out weeks in advance. Only downside, as I had booked through Viator we had to sit 4 at a table. Try to book direct if you don't want to share a table. Also, I felt afternoon tea was a bit rushed (but only because I wanted to go to the gift shop and Long Bar)

  8. I done the 1 day HOHO bus a month ago. Obviously, didn't have time to get off at all stops. But it was fab. I bought my ticket in Kowloon from one of the official sellers near the Big Bus office, they directed me to the Star Ferry. I was on the ferry by about 0830. There were 2 Big Buses waiting at the other side on Hong Kong Island. Easy to spot and everything was straight forward. Had to wait 10-15 mins as I was there before the first bus was due to leave. My advise is to try to get there ready for the first bus. I made the Peak Tram my first stop and there wasn't much of a queue. I have a photo of the queue, but I dont appear to be able to attach it! Was there something specific that you wanted to know?

  9. I embarked in Vancouver in Sept 2013, I stayed in the Westin Bayshore and had a walked to the Totem Poles in Stanley Park and then walked from there to Gastown and also went up the Lookout. A couple I met took a tour to the suspension bridge in the morning, I believe they booked the previous night through the hotel. We all made it back to the hotel for midday check-out and plenty of time to get the ships transfer to the port.

Here is my Lookout glass lift video:

  10. I'm not a diver, but I think the pole would be good, as you can get closer to things and spin it around to film yourself. I have a gopole for my gopro and I highly recommend it.

My gopro footage is on YouTube search for carah70
