I arrive in Copenhagen on Friday to board the Dawn for 2 weeks. I've done this itinerary in the summer time, but decided to try this cruise to see the Northern Lights. (A bucket list item) It sounds like the current sailing hasn't had luck seeing the NL's. Let hope the weather takes a turn for the better.
My hopes for good internet and good butler service will be non existent. Looks like lots of open cabins for this sailing, so expecting a small crowd.

Can anyone tell me who the cruise director, assistant cruise director and social hostess who are on Voyager right now?
Thanks!

Sounds like SB did you a favor by removing India from the itinerary. How would you have obtained a visa in less than three weeks?
it’s easy to get an e-visa for India as a U.S. citizen. SB definitely didn’t do me my favors!I just noticed that you were on the 2/2/20 Crystal Symphony cruise. You departed right before all the craziness started!

I just booked the 32-Day Holiday Pearls Of Arabia & Asia departing on 12/7/22. I booked this itinerary for the India ports, since I've been to most of the other ports. Right after I made final payment, I received an itinerary change saying the ship was no longer stopping in India. No explanation as to why the change was made. It looks like Regent is still sailing to India during this same period. Does anyone know why Seabourn isn't stopping in India?

I'll be sailing solo on the 32 day Dubai to Singapore cruise in December. Have they reinstated hosted tables?

I didn't end up posting much here since I didn't have a good cruise. In fact, I left after 7 days and arrived home on Saturday. I'm so glad I did since I started feeling ill Monday night and woke up on Tuesday with a terrible case of Covid. I was very careful on the bus on plane and wore a mask .
I'm so thankful that I was off the ship when I got sick since I probably would have been transferred off the ship to a hospital. Even though I have all the necessary insurance to deal with that, I'm happier to feel this sick at home!
If anyone else was on that sailing and feels unwell, please test yourself right away so you don't expose anyone else. I have avoided Covid since the beginning, and this is definitely nothing to mess around with!

I’ve sailed Regent in the summer before, and I did expect the usual NUMBER of kids. It’s usually older kids and young adults. There are a lot of YOUNG kids, and quite more than I’ve ever seen before on Regent.

Currently on the Explorer. In Salerno today. Ship is looking good.
The ship seems well occupied judging by the Observation lounge last night. I am Shocked by the number of kids on this sailing. Sitting poolside right now and there are lots of kids. They have taken over both hot tubs and are going back and forth jumping into them.
I heard kids running down the hallway last night. Hoping things calm down on that front.
skipped dinner last night since the social hostess is out sick and I wasn’t interested in dining alone.
Tomorrow I’m visiting Taormina, one of my favorite ports!

Decided today to book the Explorer leaving Saturday 6/6 for 14 nights from Rome to Athens.
I'm travelling solo, so wondering who is the social hostess on Explorer right now?
Are they back to having dinner with the guests?

I'm thinking about booking a very last minute cruise on Splendor that leaves on Wednesday from Copenhagen. When I last sailed on Regent in March, the social hostess was not allowed to dine with the social travelers group. She was only allowed to have before dinner drinks. Has that changed?

My daughter and I are on the 14 day Encore sailing on May 15th. I'm very disappointed in the port changes. Hoping the rest of the trip makes up for the cancellation of these prime ports, and hope the water problem is solved by the time we board.

Can anyone provide the names of the cruise director, assistant cruise director and social hostess on the Explorer right now?
Sailing on Thursday.

I’m mid 50’s and Aaron is mid 40’s. Yes, I think we are the youngest on the ship, but we are loving our interaction with most guests. Although several have mistaken us for crew! J
I sailed on the 12/9/21 Explorer cruise with my pretty blond 22 year old daughter. People were constantly mistaking her for a crew person, or commenting on her bikini. She actually loves meeting older people, and loves sailing with me on the luxury cruise lines. She usually ends of befriending the entertainment staff and hanging out with them in their off hours. We also had a great group of social travelers on that sailing, and had the first ever social travelers Christmas pub crawl.
Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Just to update, even though nobody wanted to comment.
If you purchase your air through the cruise line, it does include transfers. Not sure why the port agent couldn't have figured this out. They will reimburse them the $25 for the cab. Not the way to start the vacation. Not sure why they couldn't just transfer them and figure it out when they got the to the ship. Not luxury service so far. Hopefully, it will improve.

I thought that the air purchased from the cruise line includes a transfer. My TA even confirmed that. My daughters just arrived in Barbados and were told that they were not on the list. We just booked the cruise on Tuesday so they told ground support that they should be on the list, but they refused to transfer them.

The cruise is coming to an end, but I thought I'd take this time to review a few things.
I have travelled exclusively on the luxury lines for the last few years with my last cruise being on the Regent Mariner just last month.
The Silver Muse is a beautiful ship. The common areas are beautiful, and even the classic veranda cabin I'm sailing in is quite spacious. I'm traveling solo, so I can attest to the space when shared. The design of the shower leaves a lot to be desired, but it's nice to look at. There is a towel rack that goes across the entire from of the sink vanity, and it goes too close to the toilet. Several of the ladies I met all shared matching bruises on their arms from unfortunate contact with the towel rack. Shortening by 6 inches would still give plenty of room for hand towels and remove the risk of bodily injury. I find the layout of the shower difficult as well.
My biggest issue this sailing has been with dining. The dinner menus in Atlantide, Indocine, La Taraza, Hot Rocks and the pizza restaurant have not changed the entire cruise. The grill and pizza restaurants are outside, and with weather in the 50's, I don't want to endure dining outside. I'm from a place with great Italian food and find the cuisine in La Taraza to be sub par. Breakfast in La Teraza has been very crowded. They have been using Silver Note to accommodate the overflow. Not an ideal place for breakfast with no windows. Tonight was the second formal night in a row where my group of 4 was not able to eat in Atlantide because no tables were available. The next segment has 50 more people than this one, so I don't know how they will handle the crowds.
I've met some wonderful people on this sailing but I don't think I'll sail on Silver Muse again until they solve the dining issues. I feel for the 90 people on the Grand Voyage. I'm tired of the menus after 16 days.

I'll be sailing on the Silver Muse from 10/13-10/31. I'm a big baseball fan. GO CUBS!!
Will I be able to watch the playoffs and World series on the ship?

I thought this cruise ended on 9/9

I'm really enjoying this cruise, but I have a huge pet peeve with reserving chairs in the shade by the pool. They are at a premium and I had one this morning since I was staying on board. I was going to lunch in the dining room, and being the rule follower that I am, I took my things with me instead of leaving them on the chair. I knew I was going to be longer than the allowed 30 minutes. When I returned, there were items on all the chairs in the shade. Not many people sitting there, but lots of stuff on the chairs. I guess I should just break the rules like the others, but that is not in my nature. I hope they actually sit in them some time this afternoon.

At a lovely table in La Veranda as I write this. Thanks goodness for unlimited internet. Arrived in Dubai at 7pm last night after an easy flight. Slept for 8 hours. I don't care of the 2-3-2 arrangement on the Emirates 777, but the middle seat was empty, so I didn;t have anyone climbing over me as I slept.
Arrived on time in Dubai and Regent had a car waiting to take me directly to the ship. Nice to have a private car instead of a bus. Booked on a guarantee and got a nice cabin upgrade.
Looks like this will be another fabulous cruise.

I'm just finishing my packing and will head out at 4:00 to catch my 8:30pm flight from Chicago direct to Dubai on Emirites. I am scheduled to arrive in Dubai at 7pm on Monday, so hopefully everything will be on time and I will make it in time. At least the ship doesn't sail until 11pm.
It seems that I'm always arriving too early or too late, but I think I prefer this to sitting in a hotel lobby or arrival lounge at the cruise terminal.

As a solo traveler, I have enjoyed the benefit of having a social hostess on Regent cruises. Does Oceania have a social hostess on all sailings?
