Have been on several Sea Dream cruises but are considering future cruises on Windstar Star Class ships. Any insight/comparison would be appreciated. Thanks for your comments.

Great report! We board on February 25th. Can't wait! It's been too long!
-
Confirmed with SD today that disembarkation in San Juan on March 4th will be Pier 4.
-
We're booked at The Sheridan Old San Juan. Seems to be located close to the cruise dock and walkable in old San Juan. Thanks for the restaurant suggestions.

Thanks for your suggestions. We're booked at Grand Case. Looks wonderful!

Will be embarking 3/25; SXM-SJU; Would appreciate suggestions for accommodations for 1 night prior to departure from Marigot. Thanks for your suggestions!

Our first visit to San Juan. We arrive Sunday morning on SDll ending the Marigot to San Juan 7 day cruise. Things to see, places to eat, in San Juan. Arrive Sunday, fly out on Tuesday afternoon. Is that enough time, to much time? We're flexible. Your suggestions are appreciated fellow SeaDreamers. This will be our third SeaDream cruise. Long overdue!

We've booked #201 & #202 on past cruises. No issues whatsoever; even if meals are served in the dining room. Have a wonderful cruise! You'll be happy!

Hilton is perfect if you're just in for the night before embarkation. They have a van to the cruise port which is nearby. Can't remember if there is a charge.

I'm considering the PBI-LIS TA in April. What temp & seas can be expected on this more northerly route? I did the BGI-LIS TA a couple of years ago. Outdoor/pool weather most days; calm seas until 1 day out of LIS. Thanks for any info. Go Dawgs!

We first sailed on SDI 4 years ago. We will sail again on SDI in March. I note there have been upgrades on SD2. Based on recent cruise experience, does anyone know of any upgrades on SDI. Thanks to all for any information.

Would love to see photos of the newly refurbished cabins and the new hot tubs. We're scheduled for PBI-SJU departing January 30th on SDII. Our third SD cruise-can't wait!!

Also considering the November crossing. 2nd shot next month. Feeling confident to book some cruises.

Thanks for the nice report Mcpepe. I'll be departing on the SDII TA this coming Monday. Hope it's smooth sailing for us both. Have fun!!

I'm on Deck 2. Even at my advanced age the stairs are no problem. Hell, I need the exercise getting to TOYB. Maybe it's the coming down late evening that will be the problem. And maybe we'll get a swim mid-Atlantic. My hope is for smooth sailing and warm weather. The Bridgetown to Lisbon spring crossing weather is a tough one to predict. But no worries.

I'll be doing the TA Bridgetown to Lisbon on SDII in April. Tickets arrived a few days ago. I'm looking forward to my first TA experience on a small ship. Great to hear your glowing report on the crew. Silvio was with us on SDI in the Caribbean a couple of years ago. He was always there to make it happen. Our TA was cut from a 12 day cruise to a 10 day cruise because it is going into dry dock in Lisbon upon our arrival. That coupled with the March 20th announcement raises many possibilities. Any clues? Was the yacht in good shape? All things on board up to SD standards?

Thanks for the info Zimmy. I'll happily tip for what I'm certain will be service on par with all other SD services.
-
Is tipping expected in the spa for massages and other services?
-
BTW and for what it's worth: As of 1/22, MIA tells me only two cabins remain on Deck 2

Helpful insight BeignetBoy. Thank you. Hoping for smooth sailing and warm temps. 50-60 guests sounds good too! RT airfare from Europe back to the states was reasonable; yet I hate to waste the return leg. Your advice is well taken. Couldn't agree more: "the SeaDream experience is what keeps us coming back."

This being my 1st TA experience, has anyone on the board done the EB spring TA? What can I expect in terms of weather? Pool weather, outdoor dining weather, Balinese bed weather? Are the seas relatively calm? Miami confirms SDII going into dry dock at the end of this cruise but only says the expected SD experience will not be diminished. Miami also says the cruise is about 45% booked. Should be a cozy group!

Thank you both for your input. I took Dred Pilot's advice. Booked a RT originating in Europe to the States. Will only use the outbound leg back to the States. Oneway fare was double the RT fare. Go figure!! Thanks again for the advice!

This is my second SD cruise but my first SD TA experience. Previous cruise was aboard SDI November 2016 BGI to SXM. Great trip. From LIS, it's on to Athens, Gr. for a couple of weeks. One way airfares from Athens back to states are double RT fares. Contemplating buying the cheaper RT ticket from Athens back to the states using only the outbound leg. Will I be subject to retroactive penalties by the carrier.
Sea Dream vs. Star Class on Windstar-Thoughts?

Thanks-good info. We have no issue with Sea Dream. Service, food, cabin, over all experience has been positive on 3 cruises. Seems like Windstar will also meet our expectations.
