Are puzzles, chess, games, and cards currently available to borrow or do I need to bring my own? Not sure if this has been discontinued due to COVID.
I’ll be on the Crown in January - are books available in the library? Are passengers offering up books they brought and have finished?
Thank you in advance.

I'm in the process of making dinner reservations for the Crown, sailing January 6th. We prefer a set time and we like to share a table. We've always eating in the Botticelli. Who has eating dinner in both the Da Vinci and Botticelli? Which do you prefer? I know the menus are the same but how about the décor, etc.? Thank you in advance.

Just returned home from a 12 day cruise on the Norwegian Spirit that ended yesterday. Started in Hawaii, with stops at Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island. Then headed 2,000 miles south (4 days at sea) to French Polynesia where we had stops at Raiatea, Bora Bora, Moorea, and Tahiti. The cruise was fantastic! Great ship, awesome ports, and excellent service. Not a mention of Covid for almost the entire cruise. On Monday, we all had to take Covid tests on board in order to fly out of Tahiti on Tuesday. Once results started coming in, it wasn't good!! Numerous positive test results, mostly from people that were asymptomatic. Once a passenger tested positive, a blue sticker was placed on their door. Early yesterday morning, prior to disembarkation, I made a trip around decks 9, 10, and 11 (the main passenger decks, but not the only decks with passenger cabins.) On those three decks, I counted over 80 cabins with blue dots. Some of those may have had both passengers with Covid, others maybe only one of the passengers. Based on what I observed, I think it's pretty safe to say there were at least 120 positive cases on board, and that's probably a conservative estimate. Keep in mind that there were only 1100 passengers total, and who knows how many staff members have tested positive.
Those who tested positive were required to stay on board to quarntine as the ship began a new 12 day cruise back to Hawaii yesterday. Those who are positive must quarantine at least 5 days, and until they test negative. Because the new internary has 4 sea days scheduled after the first 4 days, it will be at least day 9 of the new cruise itinerary until those passengers can get off the ship (once they reach the first Hawaiin port).
We know many of those that have been affected and have had to stay on board. Becasue they are qurantined, it will be a long voyage for them all! Are thoughts and prayers are witht them. Wondering if those new passengers who boarded yesterday have been informed of what's going on and the condition of the ship they're walking into!!
My 22 yo daughter and I were on this cruise. We tested negative on the 31st (we spent one night in Papeete). I thought I “caught a bad cold” on the 2nd but tested positive today (the 4th). We were on deck 10. The occupants of the cabins on both sides of us we were in isolation (we saw their meals being delivered by staff in full PPE). I am vaccinated and double boosted. I work in healthcare and have been very cautious up until the cruise - I thought receiving a 2nd boost 16 days before the cruise would protect me - I should have known better - this a very sneaky disease. I wish I would have masked up more. Be safe everyone.

The OBC I have are not from NCL - they are from the travel agency (Crucon Cruise Outlet).
I've heard OBC can no longer be used at Starbucks. Can anyone who's been on a NCL cruise recently verify this?

We've always used our OBC for Cruise Next. I'm assuming that it is not refundable -- it is from NCL. We've had $600 in OBC for our last five or so bookings. It just magically appears when we book a cruise. That's often what we end up spending at least some of it on -- it depends how much we spend in the spa.
To the OP -- spa is a good way to spend a chunk of change. Another spend is a picture package. We did this once and truthfully got some great photos from it. You can also spend little bits of it by purchasing the a la carte food/drinks (Starbucks, ice cream, etc.).
The OBC I have are not from NCL - they are from the travel agency (Crucon Cruise Outlet).

Edited: Link didn't work.
Look at the NCL FAQ's under "money matters".
I read the entire section on money matters and unless I missed something, nothing is mentioned regarding OBC and what it can and cannot be used for.

refundable OBC can be used for anything you'd charge to your room. non-refundable has restrictions - can't be used for tips, DSC or CruiseNext (there may be more but these are the big ones).
What is DSC? Thank you

Where did the OBC come from? If it is from a travel agent then it depends on whether it is refundable or non refundable. Only the TA will be able to tell you that.
It is all from the travel agent - so let's assume, until I hear from them, that is all nonrefundable. What can I use the credits for? Thanks!
-
Sorry - duplicate post
-
Can someone who really knows what they are talking about please tell me exactly what I can and cannot use my onboard credit for?
I am sailing May 19th and have $725 OBC.
I also have these promotions:
1 x Shore Excursion Discount
2 x 3 Meal Speciality Dining Package
2 x Internet Package (300 Minutes)
2 x PREMIUM BEVERAGE PACKAGE
Thank you in advance.

Yes it is a extra fee area. Here is a Cruise Critic Article. What ship are you on? That would help. We have been on the Royal. The Sanctuary is wonderful.
Very popular in warm weather cruises on sea days. You reserve after you board.
Where on the ship do you reserve?
-
Hello, I'm wondering where on the Royal do I sign up for the sanctuary, what hours is it open, and what is the cost for 1 day? Thank you in advance.

Hi - I purchased a pool cabana day pass for the Royal Palms for Monday February 25th.
Does anyone know how early a person can use the cabana and pool?
Our ship docks at 7:00 am and departs at 3:30.
Thank you in advance.

We booked through this site. I’ve researched it and they get good reviews on TripAdvisor. You can set up a transfer as a shared transfer from ship to your lodging in Rome.
If you can get at least four in a van the cost is 75€ per couple
Once the amount hits five people, then you will be charged
Van holds up to 8 people max.
Private transport is all about the same price as your post reflects.
Great - I will check it out.

Hello,
I am looking for recommendations for a private transfer of 3 adults on July 21st from the cruise port in Civitavecchia to an apartment we are staying in near the Vatican. I have quotes of 150-180 euros but was hoping to find something for less.
Thank you in advance.

Things you should think about bringing:
Extension cord or power strip, heavy duty magnet with a hook (the walls are magnetic), assortment of OTC meds so you don't have to go to the infirmary, plastic over the door shoe rack (perfect for sunscreen, phone, paperback, small purse, makeup, jewelry, etc, etc), plenty of sunscreen, lanyard for cruise card, plenty of $1 bills, shampoo bottle that suctions to the wall, tiny bottle of bubbles for kids at sail away (or for the kid in everyone), shawl or lightweight cardigan, small flashlight, nightlight, or reading light.
As you can see, I'm an over packer, but I've been cruising with my daughter since she was three, so I like to be prepared (she's 16 now and we leave on the Regal in 8 days).
Have a great cruise!

Hello,
Does anyone have any experience staying in an Interior cabin that shares a wall with the laundromat? Is it noisy? I am a very light sleeper. Specifically, it would be on the Pacific Princess.
Thank you in advance.

momfrommn,
You also recently posted questions about Cozumel on the Cozumel board.
Are you on a cruise that goes to both Cozumel and Grand Turk? They're pretty far apart and unless you're doing a back-to-back or a long 14 day cruise, I haven't heard of a 5-7 day cruise stopping at both, but could be wrong. Don't want you to get set to head toward Jacks and find yourself in an unfamiliar, perplexing setting when you arrive.
Perhaps you're confusing Grand Turk with Grand Cayman? It's a common mistake as Grand Cayman is included in the Cayman Islands board and many cruisers are looking for the actual port name.
We're on a BTB On the Ruby Princess. Can't wait!

It's to your left when you get off of the ship
Thanks!

google "puerta maya taxi rates" and look for the links beginning with www dot puertamaya dot com/port information/taxi rates.
Prices are in Mexican pesos. Current exchange rate is 14 MXP:1$US. But most taxis and businesses use a10MXP:1$US exchange rate.
thanks. I found a site in USD

When we get off the ship, do we go right or left to get to Jack's Shack? In other words, as you face the island, do you go right or left?
Thanks.

This site may help; I noticed that it showed the correct fare from when we were there earlier this year.
I tried to post a link but it ###### it out. I think the rate is around $13 each way. You can google this and find several places that may help you.
I don't think you gave me the site to Google??

We'll be docking at the Puerta Maya site in Cozumel. Does anyone know the cab fare from Puerta Maya to Paradise Beach?
Thank you in advance.

We'll be docking at Crown Bay in St. Thomas on Wed Jan 7th. Does anyone know a place with free WIFI that is within walking distance? My highschooler will need to go onto the school website to check for homework assigmnents. Thank you in advance.
Are the walls and doors magnetic?

Just off the Jade. The wall (at least on 1 side) was magnetic - I was able to use the hook magnets I brought.
