  1. I was calling for an upgrade.  We paid for an OV gty.  I called to see if any upgrades were available and the agent at Expedia said your already assigned a room Samsara Suite balcony!  no charge!  Now I wonder if we will be able to use any of the perks...hmmm... happy anyway!

  2. Do you know your drop-point in Rome?

And whether you'll be collected from the same place at the end of the day?

Then we can give a coherent answer.

    Description

Extraordinary monuments that bear witness to the passing of the centuries, a rich and varied cuisine to be savoured, a variety of shops to explore: Rome meets all requirements related to leisure and culture.

    WHAT WE WILL SEE:

    • Centre of Rome
    • City Centre Streets, Monuments and Squares* Restaurants, renowned cafés and shops
    • world famous museums and churches

    WHAT WE WILL DO:

    • At the port of Civitavecchia we are met by a local guide who, during the coach trip to the centre of Rome, gives us practical tourist information and a city map that will be very useful to explore one of the most fascinating cities in the world on our own.
    • After setting an appointment for our return, we leave the bus and we are immediately immersed in the magical atmosphere of the Eternal City, where, at every turn, we encounter evidence of many centuries of history that have contributed to make the city what it is today, from pagan times through the long earthly reign of the Popes up to the present.
    • Along elegant streets and in the narrow alleys, in the large and small squares, up and down the gentle slopes of the seven hills, wandering around Rome is an unforgettable experience for everyone because this city offers a concentration of sublime art, entertainment and shopping like very few other cities in the world.
    • The day is all ours to see, visit, buy and enjoy all that Rome has to offer, as we wish.
    • In the late afternoon, we return to the meeting point as agreed with our local guide at the agreed time to return on board.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

    • This tour includes a basket lunch selected by our ship staff.
    • The coach transfer to Rome takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes each way.
    • It is very important to listen to our courier who will announce the meeting place and time for your return on board.
    • The point of arrival and departure in Rome will be announced by the courier at the beginning of the excursion. It will be in the city centre in an area from where the main tourist attractions are easily accessible.
    • This excursion does not include a guide.

    • We recommend that you book early because only a limited number of places are available. The excursion is reserved for guests who do not disembark at Civitavecchia.

  4. We arrive in Civitavecchia on a friday. I can get transfer from cruise port to Rome City Centre....its a must we get to the Colosseum and then fill in whatever we can for the remainder of the time. Excursion time allows for 9.5 hrs and it shows travel time from port to this destination is 1.5hrs. If anyone can tell me what is the best way to see the highlights as well as covering the Colosseum, i would truly appreciate it. thank you!

  5. I have read through the threads and still having a tough time making a decision. We arrive in this port on a Sunday....we originally were going with Aix but i have read many things are closed on Sundays. Options are stay in Marseille for walking tour/food/shopping, Arles and Saint Remy a day in Provence, Aix transfer, or Avignon. It is myself and my 22yr old daughter travelling. Im sure she would love some crepe's and shopping. I cant seem to find something that say "oooh yes lets do that" any help would be great!

  6. Just trying to determine the drink situation for our upcoming cruise. Are there any free drinks anywhere? buffets? dining room? I cant figure out what package i need...my daughter who is 22 and myself are not huge drinkers but i cant seem to nail down which is the right fit.

    Thank you!

  7. My daughter and I are looking to book this cruise on the Costa Diadema. I was looking for any thoughts or information/reviews of this cruise and itinerrary. It leaves out of Barcelona in November. We also looked at the MSC Seaview but it leaves out of Naples and it just seems leaving out of Barcelona is easier with distance from airport and not having to add additional travel. We are travelling from the US and once we arrive we will be staying one day pre cruise. Thank you for any help/tips you offer. This is our first time in Europe.

  8. The most convenient airport would be Naples International. From there it is a short 3-4 mile taxi ride to any part of Naples including the port. If that is not workable then you could consider flying into Rome (FCO) and using the train to get to Naples. The train will take you about 2 hours.

    Hank

Thank you for the information. Do you know about the Port in Palermo? Same situation....trying to figure out best airport to fly into and then how far travel is from airport to port. I really appreciate your help.:cool:

  9. I was on this cruise too....much of what you said I agree. I was mainly a Carnival cruiser prior to this first cruise on NCL mostly impart to Carnival being able to fit 5 in some of there cabins. This trip it was me, my husband and my two girls 13 & 11. I will add a couple of things also... The smell of the smoke was horrific in the casino...we are non smokers. We learned how to navigate it but the stench carries far outside of the casino. I had the bump out balcony 13290 and we all fit perfectly on it and gave the added room needed for a family of 4. I agree there is no repore with the staff and I always enjoyed that on Carnival...I felt they were getting tipped so no reason to work extra hard for it...these people do work very hard. The dining areas especially the buffet are well kept and nothing is left long on the table as they are constantly cleaning. The Tv in the room is horrible...one channel played a movie and the other channel was playing big bang theory, two broke girls etc...mostly inappropriate shows for the kids...every now and then we saw doc mcstuffins....a lot of repeat shows. Food in the main dining rooms was monotonous. Service in the main dining room was super slow....close to 2 hrs from start to finish. We ended up favoring Taste and Savor....smaller dining room and faster service. Great Stirrup cay was great and Blue lagoon was even more great....Port Canaveral is a waste honestly...we did the shopping...we should have stayed on board. Shows were great..also magic and Mayhem was a hit with kids. My biggest tip for avoiding waits is get there early...we were at dinner as soon as or shortly after dining room opened....at the tender as soon as they would let us off....self disembark..we were on the line 715 when the tag said 8am.....we did NOT wait for anything.... when you have a ship of 4,000 all having the same idea to have dinner at 630...your gonna wait. Overall it was a great time. I paid around $2500 with the same perks, UBP, OBC....live an 1.5 hrs from the port. Hope this helps!

  10. Your probably getting a room that is being upgraded. So as they sort out the details. They might not hit the CC until it's done. Not out if the woods, but almost there. Good luck. Im 14 days out and lots of balcony and mini suite still available. As my TA thinks my bid is strong. You would of though be done by now. Got a call from Florida this morning, but only TA telling me NCL sees I haven't printed out my luggage tags. Lol, don't want to jinks it by printing out. I bet if I printed them out, would get the upgrade offer as it comes out of printer.

Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Im 23 days out and submitted a poor bid. Im throwing it out to the upgrade fairy.
