  1. Another option is to book parking online through Global Parking. This will allow you to park at one of the hotels near the airport and use the hotel's transportation to the airport the same as if you had spent the night. It's much more reasonable than the airport parking. We use them all the time to fly out of Baltimore. Enjoy the cruise. We've been on quite a few of the repos and there's a fun group who do this regularly.

Thanks so much! found parking for 6$ a day!!

  2. Thank you everyone for your help.

We decided we are driving to NJ the morning of, parking in EWR long term parking for 106$ for the 8 nights. free shuttle to the airport. When we get back into Bayonne we are taking a taxi back to our car at the airport.

We just cruised out of Bayonne last week and our friends who flew in from North Carolina paid appx $50 taxi fare one way from EWR

Not going to bother staying overnight in Jersey the night b4, I would rather sleep a few hrs in my own bed than in a crummy hotel - our flight is mid morning and we dont mind driving a couple hrs.

  3. First, it's not a repositioning cruise at all...it's just a cruise.

JFK is about as far from Bayonne as you can get in New York....If you are going to leave your car at JFK, then I'd suggest booking the Celebrity bus to the airport (assuming they have a bus to JFK). A taxi will likely cost close to $100 and there is no rational public transportation.

If it were me and I had to fly out of JFK, I'd rent a car to drive to JFK and then rent another car when I got off the ship (probably from Newark Airport, but the car rental places have shuttle busses) and drive home.

My best suggestion is to fly to san juan out of Newark Airport.....then everything's simple.

Hadn't thought of that - good idea thabnks

  4. There is a private charter bus that will take you back to CT the company is called Academy Bus Tours. Maybe you should fly out of a local airport.

I do this cruise every year for at least fine years....it most definitely is a repo Ghstudio.....

It starts in Puerto Rico and ends in NJ, and the ship is repositioning for the summer season....

thanks so much, I thought it was a repo too..

  5. We had a sewage smell coming up from our bathroom sink on Mariner 2/05. It was most noticable in the early morning late evening and when we complained they acted like they had no idea what we were talking about. 11/06 I was on a Danube River cruise the hallway and our room stunk like sewage. Again, they did not smell it and said it was probably the river. RIGHT!!! They gave us a Glade Plug In for our cabin and put them in the hallway too which only made it worse, now we had floral flavored sewage.

By the end of the week all our clothing smelled just like the boat. YUK!!

I forgot to mention we had the most $$$ cabins on the boat.
