  1. Our Favorite is Hyatt Place (Fort Lauderdale) right next to the Harbor Shopping center...great location and a quick, cheap taxi ride to Port Everglades. For best rates check out:

    www.valuetrips.com

Your rate for that time frame should be $153.00 (not including taxes) per night.

This doesn't work if your cruise is in 2019. I just tried it and I can't reserve a room in January. :(

  2. I'm sorry I haven't been on boards lately. I sent info to several people requesting it. I am not posting his information on here. I plan on sending out to people who've requested today. I was on vacation and have things outside Cruise Critic to check daily.

I did text Fritz who said he has helped a couple people and has a pickup scheduled later this year. Said thanks for making him famous! I wanted to be sure he still wanted his number given out- he said yes. I will email privately to people.

Thanks for the update! Would you please add me to the list?

  3. Hi,

A few people mentioned that the website was in French not English. If you click on the flag which is towards the upper left corner you can change the translation to English. Hope that helps!

  4. This will be our third trip to Alaska and each time we have not done ship board excursions. I have read everything I can find on the internet and booked independently. All have been wonderful experiences. Skagway is great for walking around. Read the Pierre Burton's book: Klondike, and then look up all the places he talks about in Skagway. It's just the cost of a book.

    Thanks for the book recommendation!

  5. Yes, we are doing the 5B also. That would be wonderful of you! There is not much information given about the land tour at all, ie, all the hotels, hot to upgrade to TWT what excursions you can book on the cruisetour portion, etc., etc. Please gather whatever you can for me and I will be glad to pay if you need to snail mail anything.

    Have an awesome trip!

    Thank you :)

Oh please add me to your info list! I am looking at 5B for May 2015. I am trying my best to research this bucket list cruise but it is a bit of a challenge!

  6. We have been there twice. Both times we booked through Island Marketing. When we were there the first time, a group showed up. The guys were doing a fly fishing school, and the ladies lounged out. I don't know which fly fishing school he is using, but one is conducted at Nohoch Kay.

He is going through Western Caribbean Fly Fishing School and they recommended Nohoch Kay but alas there is no room for me! We are the only ship in port but they are booked. I am frustrated that, despite my attempts to contact them and ask about a waiting list, all I seem to get is a generic form email stating that there are no openings.

Any ideas? He would rather that I don't wander around alone in a strange port. I think of it as an adventure but that might not be a good thing!

  7. Have you visited their facebook page? They don't have a regular website, and you have to book through one of the tour operators. I don't recall the name of the tour operator, but they are listed on their facebook page. It's a great spot - I've been a few times and it's my happy place!!!

Looked at the Facebook page but I don't think they use it! The last post was from August I think! Thanks for thinking of something though!

  8. Hi all,

I am looking for some advice. I have tried to contact Nohoch Kay for a reservation on 1/31 but when I try to use their "contact us" service I keep getting an "error message PAGE 404 unavailable". Has anyone else encountered this? Is there another way to contact them? I tried the "live chat" option and that does not seem to be working either! My fiance is going fly fishing that day. We are on the only ship in port and I need someplace to spend the day! The fly fishing school recommended Nohoch Kay. Hope you can help!
