Our move with our two kids was two rooms.  When we were watching the money, we got two inside cabins.  When we had a little extra, we got a balcony and put the kids in an inside cabin across the hall from us.  Some of these cruises were when our kids were around the same age as your kids will be.  For us, I know we all enjoyed the cruise a little more with separate rooms.

Also, even if there are not that many kids on the ship, those that are there will find each other pretty fast.  It's like some sort of superpower they have.  Don't be shocked if they find other kids and then don't spend that much time in the actual kids program.

    Have a great time!

I love the idea of putting them in an interior room. Thanks for sharing this!

  2. Looking at 2025 we are considering a Mediterranean cruise. Princess has the itinerary that intrigues us the most and we would be on the Sun Princess.  At the time our kids will be 14.

Are the teen clubs free?  Can the kids come and go without parents signing them in or out?  Are they well attended or ghost towns?

Also, any room advice for a family of 4?  Are we limited to suites?  Mini suites?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

  3. We're considering hopping aboard the Enchanted Princess for either her "preview voyage" (9 days, June 19, 2020) or her "maiden" voyage (10 days July 1, 2020).

My DH and I have done two Princess cruises in the past, both on the Emerald, with zero issues.

If we do this cruise we will have our 9 year old twins in tow.  In the past few years we have been on two Disney cruises and while they loved the DCL kids club they're open to the idea to try something new.

Does anyone have any comparison between DCL kids club and Princess?  I know Princess has recently re-imagined their kids club so I'm looking for recent experiences.

I'm also looking for anyone's input on being on the first sailing of a ship.  How did it go?  Should we risk it and sail first or let them sail once and then go on the second sailing?

Any input is appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

  4. Thank you!

    A few more questions:

    1. Do you book directly through Disney or do you book through another site like Expedia? Right now Expedia is offering a $500 on board credit (it looks like) for the room I'd book and also 50% off the deposit fee due.

    2. Looks like on Expedia the only thing offered is the 8:30pm dinner. How firm is that? My kids are usually in bed by 8pm!

  5. I'm looking at booking the 7 day Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy leaving on Oct. 8.

    1. Is Halloween celebrated on the ship like it is in the park? (Decorations, Halloween party, costumes etc)

    2. Is deck 7 a good deck to be on with two 6 year olds?

    3. How do you get from the airport in Orlando to the ship? Is there a shuttle? What's the cost? What's the earliest flight I should book heading home?

    4. Is a family room with a balcony worth the cost? (We're a family of 4).

Thanks in advance for your answers!
